Tina sailing!
Now I am
here with the monkeys who joined me on my first passage through the
Panama canal! We had a great time line-handling: Jean-Marie, Florian,
oups, Captain Florian (!!) - who has no CHAMPAGNE aboard - Norbert and
Kathie.
This is the story: line-handling is something you do when you handle the lines on the boats when you go through the canal and its 6 locks. You have to be one captain and 4 line-handlers. The passage is normally done in one day - a long day - but it can be done in one. We, however, got a "Pain in the Ass-advisor" (also compulsory to have aboard when passing through the canal) who only wanted to go home early. Therefore he left us in the middle of the canal (a big lake: Gatun lake, at Gmboa) at 3 pm (Panama Time!) and we where left with no supervision until the next day, when another advisor (Thank God) took care of us from 11 am (should have come at 9 am, but we are in Manana Manana-land). So, since there was no CHAMPAGNE aboard, we went on an adventure expedition into the jungle to catch some crocodiles and monkeys! Or maybe the monkeys were us 5 in the dingy...???
We saw BIG, HUGE, VERY DANGEROUS, MAN-EATING Crocodiles (IN PLURAL!!!) just VERY CLOSE to us!!! Tadam, tadam, tadam... Maybe I should mention that just before we took out on the expedition-hike, we had been swimming in the lake for quite some time! And do not think that we were intimidated by the presence of some HUNGRY Crocodiles, but we went swimming again afterwards! So there! Brave Europeans! Florian,et un Allemand qui appelle sans cesse sa "Roger"(hiss wife!!!),une frite qui n'ose prendre le soleil(ca c ést trop simple,j'ai nomme Katty de Belgique,ai-je oublie quelque chose ou quelqu ún,oui notre croco vu apres notre petite baignade,bon j'en fini avec le bon sauvage que je suis,ils ne m' ont meme pas laisse le temps de m' habille en feuilles lors de notre adventure in the jungle...pour une prochaine fois Au revoir aux filles qui me lisent,ADIEU aux autres... autres..Jean-Marie
