Welcome to the Paradise Park website!

Two cleanups are coming up!
This is a reminder that we’ve got 2 cleanups approaching fast!
Cleanup #1
9am – 12pm
Sat. October 10, 2009
Please Bring: brooms, dustpans, shovels, gloves, a friend! -- leaf blower—let me know if you’ve got one we can make use of. Thanks!
We will supply coffee and there will be water available.
This Sat. cleanup is sponsored by the FDA & FWC for all the parks in the Fan. We hope you will opt to come join us in Paradise Park as we’ve got a lot of cleaning, mulching and planting to do. There may be a little painting as well. The FDA has got us some hostas, mulch and tools as well as a couple of volunteers from the local prison’s Weekend Warriors program. These folks are not “hardened criminals” but rather folks that are working off sentences through community service for their penalties of the law. I am glad to have their help and I hope you’ll support this as well.
Cleanup #2
9:30am – 2:30pm
Sat. October 17, 2009
“Park It Here” Hands On Greater Richmond sponsored project for Friends of Paradise Park. Hands On Greater Richmond has approved our project for about 10 – 12 volunteers to assist our efforts in Paradise Park. We will be digging out liriope, transplanting some and there may some to take home if you like. This project needs both Friends of Paradise Park as well as the volunteers from Hands On Greater Richmond, so please come on out for it!! Let’s dig out some liriope and make the park look a bit neater!

About Paradise Park
Paradise Park is one of the Richmond Fan District's pocket parks. It was designed by Carlton Abbott in 1968 and is a unique example of classic modern architecture.
The park is located in the block bounded by Floyd, Allen, Grove, and Vine. If you're a Fan resident, you may have passed by this block many times without knowing the park is there. Access to the park is gained through the two alleys on Allen Ave. and the two on Vine St.
