We got an e-mail from the principal of
our daughter's middle school. I have added the emphasis in bold of the part
which caught my
attention:
"Dear Parents,
I have been hearing from teachers that they are concerned that we have SO many students coming in 5-20 minutes late in the morning with excuses like, "There was a long line at Starbucks". The ONLY excused tardy is for being ill or a doctor's appointment.
We will be assigning lunch detention to students who come in late more than once with an "over-slept", got started late, had to stop by Starbucks, etc.
The teachers still have quite a bit or curriculum they want to teach and we/they would really appreciate it if the students were on time to class in the morning.
