Breaking Radio Silence

The blog has been neglected in December.

Getting it all done for the holidays has been a precarious ride. Writing about that sort of thing breaks my Rules For Christmas Letters. I expect that around mid January, the blog can start to come back to life. Be assured, all of you who have received our Christmas letter in the past will receive it this year (except for those of you who obtained the Cease and Desist orders).

By "this year," I mean "soon."

As inspiration, I have a new winner for the Worst Christmas Letter Ever. The previous winner held the crown for years, for a long misanthropic rant about panhandlers which with no self-awareness veered into a Tiny Tim Cratchett closing, "Merry Christmas and may God bless us every one!" This year the crown was taken by a recent widow who spent over 2-1/2 pages describing the play-by-play of her husband in the hour of his death. The whole idea of sending this as holiday greetings takes my breath away.
