The Surprise Statement
My son is ten, and doesn't say a whole
lot. When he comes out with words I haven't heard before, it always takes me by
surprise.
We were at a 4th of July party at a friend's house. I was in the basement watching Danny, to prevent pillaging of the fish tank or other disasters. He suddenly got up and zoomed up the stairs before I could even stand up.
As I hustled to the stairs, he zoomed back down, handed me a frozen confection he had purloined from the freezer, and said "hide this!" He then zoomed off in the opposite direction.
"Hide this!" ??
