We Have A New Record

In the mind-boggling mess category, we have a new record.

Those dry chemical fire extinguishers have been sitting around the house for years.

Last year at school they had a demonstration of fire extinguishers. Dan grabbed it, and gave the guy doing the demonstration a foamy hosedown.

Tonight, he stealthily removed the dry chemical fire extinguisher, smuggled it to the basement, and discharged it -- all of it -- in the basement. Apparently his long term memory works just fine.

From NAFED, the National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors :

Unlike a clean agent, dry chemical agent discharged within enclosed rooms will disperse and leave residues on just about every exposed surface. Electrical motor cooling fans
typically draw these residues into delicate electrical contact areas, which will require various stages of equipment disassembly to properly clean.

I'm not sure we wouldn't have been better off having a fire. This stuff is everywhere.
