The Daily Catch

From AlterNet: "In 56 of Ohio's 88 counties, ballots and election records from 2004 have been "accidentally" destroyed, despite a federal order to preserve them -- it was crucial evidence which would have revealed whether the election was stolen."

Would any of my Republican friends like to argue that the destruction of these ballots, which federal courts had ordered preserved, was accidental? Or that this has nothing to do with suspicion that the election was stolen?

Republican Senator Ted Stevens asked his fellow Republican senators to help him block ethics legislation in the Senate. The ethics bill passed in the House by a vote of 411 to 8. This comes the day after Stevens' home was raided by the FBI and IRS. Fellow Republican Senator Larry Craig indicated it was likely that the other Senators would help Senator Stevens in this effort.

And when Larry King asked Dick Cheney whether he sent Alberto Gonzales to John Ashcroft's hospital room to get Ashcroft to sign off on domestic spying that the Justice Department had refused to approve, Cheney says "I don't recall." Who believes that is true? Who believes that this government of ours does not lie to us with regularity?
