Introduction
I have been interested in model trains since I can remember.
Below are some photos from the last model railroad I did.
It is in N scale and the entire railroad measures 3.5x3.5 feet.
The railroad is
set in Arizona.
The mountains are made of foam and painted with acryllic paints.
All the pine trees are hand made using balsa wood and pickled fern leaves.
The sajuaro cactuses are also hand made by me carved from balsa,
scored with a razor saw, and painted.
All of the people and automobiles were also hand-painted
-- N scale people are really small!
Custom lettering, such as on railroad-crossing signs,
was made by printing 7-point Helvetica type to a laser printer.

This is the town of Williams, Arizona.
The town really exists, but my model of it is purely my invention.

Here's a freight train comin' 'round the mountain.
The smoke is cotton suspended by a thread,
but is wiggled during exposure to blur it.
