Burning a Debian Installer CD

The Debian Linux distribution has three branches: unstable, testing, and stable. The testing branch is a good choice since it's reasonably stable and has fairly up-to-date software. Each branch has a current release and each release has a name. At the time of this writing, "sarge" is the name of the testing branch.

To burn a Debian installer CD:
  1. Download the name-powerpc-1.iso CD image from here.
  2. Under Mac OS X, run Disk Utility.
  3. From the Images menu, select Open....
  4. Select the iso CD image file you downloaded.
  5. Click Burn in the toolbar.
