Burning a Debian Installer CD
The Debian Linux distribution has three branches: unstable, testing, and stable. The testing branch is a good choice since it's reasonably stable and has fairly up-to-date software. Each branch has a current release and each release has a name. At the time of this writing, "sarge" is the name of the testing branch. To burn a Debian installer CD:
- Download the name-powerpc-1.iso CD image from here.
- Under Mac OS X, run Disk Utility.
- From the Images menu, select Open....
- Select the iso CD image file you downloaded.
- Click Burn in the toolbar.
