Pitching Your Songs 9: Songcasting.biz
and Bandit A&R Newsletter
We've reached our final installment regarding places to pitch your music.

Songcasting.biz.  This is not really a website, but an old-fashioned pitch list sent via mail or fax once a month.

UPDATE: In doing research for the podcast, I discovered that the Songcasting webpage has been taken down. I've also seen a few forum posts online that claim the company's phone is disconnected, and they've stopped receiving their newsletters. Looks like it's down for good.

The Bandit A&R Newsletter. This newsletter is based out of the UK. It’s similar to the Songcasting newsletter, but with more detailed listings. It’s released once a month. They offer two months worth of listings when you first sign up, which gives you a great start.

Cost:  About $18 per month, with the first month free.
Good:  Lots of good, legitimate listings. You get the names, addresses, websites and emails for each listing. Some listings will let you email, but it varies. Lots of listings from the US, UK, Europe and Australia.
Bad:  The newsletter mostly has listings for performers or bands - there are occasional listings for songs, but not many. It's up to you to establish the relationship with the label or publisher. Anyone with the money can get the list, so there’s no screening involved.

We've covered a lot of ground, and given you some great sources to pitch your music. Here's to your success!
