2002 CHICAGO - The many faces of Paul McCartney chatting with reporters April 8 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Paul accompanied fiancee Heather Mills who picked up an Advocacy Award from the Center for International Rehabilitation, a charity founded by Dr. William Kennedy Smith. The organization helps land mine victims in countries such as Afghanistan by providing artificial limbs and doctor care. In attendance were Chicago Mayor, Richard Daley and Ted Turner.Paul was in town to perform two sold out shows at the United Center. He said, "We are going to ROCK Chi-ca-GO!" And he did.

2000 LONDON - (Left) I hand Paul a copy of my book. He says "Thank you" and gives the peace sign before he gets into the car. No word yet on what he thinks about it. Stay tuned!

2000 NEW YORK - June 3,Riverside Church, the U.S. Premiere of "A Garland For Linda." Featuring the Riverside Festival Singers, Demarre McGill on flute and Pittnary Shin on Cello. Paul arrived solo, in time for the second half of the performance which was the "Garland." He sat behind Paul Simon and his wife, Edie Brickell and nursed a nagging cough. Paul shed a few tears after his song "Nova" was performed.

(Left and Right) Paul takes the stage for a bow after the performance and addresses the audience as he thanks the conductor, Helen H. Cha-Pyo who he mistakenly calls "Wendy." He apologizes and says he has 'jet lag.' Then leaves the stage and attempts to take his seat in the fourth row but is mobbed by fans which he doesn't seem to mind.

(Center) Paul watches the choir sing the encore of the "Four Songs for Chorus" featuring Beatles songs. Fans shout his name and he politely puts his index finger to his lips and says, "Shssssssh! Let's listen." Fans persist and Paul leaves after the number, but not before shaking a few hands, and taking some flowers and a book.

1999 NEW YORK - September 7, Paul belts out "Rave On" in the key of "A" with the Crickets at the annual Buddy Holly party held at New York's Roseland Ballroom. The 2,300 invitation-only guests watched performances by the Crickets with Nanci Griffith, Bobby Vee and the Vees, Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys plus Stan Perkins (son of Carl).VIPs in the audience included: Gilbert Gottfried, Dion DiMucci, Neil Sedaka, Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), Chubby Checker, Darlene Love, Maria Elena Holly, Lou Christie, Christopher Reeve, JoJo Starbuck, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel and Stella and James McCartney. Between sets a roller skating competition was held with the Grand Prize Winner (from Boston) receiving a check for $5,000. Master of ceremonies was DJ, Cousin "Brucie" Morrow of WCBS-FM in New York. 1999 NEW YORK - 14th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on March 15 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.Paul is inducted as a solo artist and sings "Blue Suede Shoes," "What'd I Say" and "Let It Be" with a little help from Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Elton John, Bono and more. He dedicates his performance and award to his late wife, Linda.

(Left and Right)Paul answers questions from the press about a new album of '50s and '60s songs he recently recorded at Abbey Road Studios.He also talks about his favorite photographer, Linda.

1997 LONDON - HMV Record Store on Oxford Street welcomes Paul at a record signing. Over 10,000 fans lined both sides of Oxford Street bringing London's busiest shopping district to a standstill. Sir Paul opened the newly renovated store as a return favor. Back in 1963 Brian Epstein gave producer George Martin an early Beatles demo tape. The fateful meeting was arranged by HMV. Paul signed autographs and personally talked to the 100 lucky fans who lined up days before to meet their idol.

(Left) Paul meets "Nipper" the HMV mascot. HMV's logo is the black-and-white dog cocking his head into the gramophone. (His Master's Voice) Not only did Paul meet Nipper but he was also presented with the "Composer of the Century" award by the store.

(Center) Paul poses for the fans and assembled press during the one hour signing. He said that he did the signing because he wanted to meet the fans he has seen over the years at his concerts and other events.

(Right) Paul signed his current album as well as his latest classical work "Standing Stone."

(Right-center) One lucky fan has Paul's attention he listens intently to her conversation. The rock star spent several minutes talking to people before he signed their albums. One couple brought their infant son who received a one of a kind heart drawn by Paul on the baby's hand.

(Right) A smiling Paul acknowledges the crowd of thousands, many who camped out for days in front of the store hoping to get Paul's autograph.

1984 CHICAGO - (Left) Paul walks down a rainy Chicago street as he is met by fans and press outside his hotel.

(Right) Paul makes his way through the hotel lobby on his way to the "Broadstreet" press conference. He kindly pauses to acknowledge the photographer as he passes by.

(Right) Paul "eyes" a fan asking for an autograph. Paul obliged and was quickly ushered into the press conference by an entourage of security and publicists.

1990 CHICAGO, Soldier Field - This was the last concert on the 1989-90 tour.

(Left and Far Right) Paul and Linda backstage. McCartney took his time getting to the press conference after arriving late at 7:30pm. His plane was delayed by bad weather causing him to miss the soundcheck. He was greeted by screaming fans as his limo turned down Lake Shore Drive and entered the backstage ramp. The show started at 9:15.

1993HOLLYWOOD, CA "Earth Day Concert" at the Hollywood Bowl.(Left)Paul wanders into the press tent wearing sunglasses and surprises the unprepared press. A female reporter yells, "Oh, Paul! We're not ready for you." Paul retorts, "Too Bad!" Only one photographer recognized Paul. (Right) A male fan yells out, "I love you man!" Paul answers, "I don't even know you and I love you!"(sound file)

1994 CHICAGO - (Left) Linda McCartney's frozen food press conference to launch her vegetarian dinners. The couple posed for photos after the press conference.

(Left Center) Paul signs autographs and chats with the press. The press conference was delayed by the McCartneys who wanted to view an eclipse that began at the same time.

(Right Center) Paul waves to fans as he leaves the hotel following Linda's "Food" press conference. Linda focuses her camera on the fans as the car drives by. (Right) After stopping his limo for a group of lucky fans, Paul pauses to chat and sign autographs. The day before Paul got a chance to go sight-seeing with his family unnoticed. The next day one bicyclist nearly tumbled as a jogging Paul passed him near Soldier Field.

1995 CHICAGO The Marc Restaurant - Paul, Linda and Mary McCartney are guests at a private cocktail party for Linda's second cookbook, "Linda's Kitchen." 150 booksellers were invited by Little Brown (publisher) to meet Paul and Linda.

Vegetarian hors d'oeuvres were served and after 2 hours, the McCartneys left to eat dinner at "Charlie Trotters" restaurant. Fans jumped into cars to follow the limo and at every stoplight Paul poked his head out of the window to encourage the fans to keep following!

1990 LONDON - (Left)"End of the World Tour Party" at the Boardwalk restaurant in Soho. Paul talks with his guests. Only 90 people were invited to this very private party. (Center) The photographer finally gets a photo "with" Paul. (Right) Paul receives the Guinness Book of World Records Award for the largest audience attendance ever.(184,369 at Brazil's Maracana Stadium)
