Five New Live Aid Shows Announced

London's Hyde Park, Circus Maximus in Rome and the Museum of Art in Philadelphia are among the venues for Live 8, a series of concerts being organized by Bob Geldof, the driving force behind the 1985 Band Aid and Live Aid campaigns for African famine relief.

The July 2 concerts, which will be free, also will be held near the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin and in Paris.

"We don't want people's money. We want them,'' Geldof told a news conference Tuesday. He said negotiations for the Paris venue were continuing.

Performers will include Coldplay, Madonna, Paul McCartney, R.E.M. and U2 in London; Will Smith, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Stevie Wonder and P. Diddy in Philadelphia; Crosby, Stills and Nash, Lauryn Hill and Brian Wilson in Berlin; Jamiroquai, Youssou N'Dour, Yannick Noah and Placebo in Paris; and Duran Duran in Rome.

The events are aimed at raising awareness of poverty in developing countries just days before G8 leaders meet in Britain.

Geldof said the G8 meeting provided a ``unique opportunity for Britain to do something unparalleled in the world ... to tilt the world a little bit on its axis in favor of the poor.''

Elton John, who sat beside Geldof at the news conference, said he was very proud to be involved.''

``Now I'm fully aware of what's going on and seeing the injustices going on,'' John said. The 58-year-old pop star said he hadn't been mature enough to appreciate the last concert 20 years ago and its ramifications.

IS IT END FOR LINDA BANGERS?

Linda McCartney's frozen veggie sausages are facing the axe.

In 1994, 500,000 were sold - more than ex-Beatle husband Sir Paul's record sales.

The Linda McCartney line is still among the most popular frozen vegetarian food range in Britain.

But Heinz, which owns it, is poised to sell. A spokesman said: "Sadly the sausages are under review. We will report back in nine months."

The range was launched in 1991 and veggie Linda advised on packaging and design and promoted the products. When she died from cancer in 1998 it was worth £25million ($45 million).

Sir Paul pledged to keep control of the brand after genetically-modified soya was found in some frozen sausages.

But in 1998, United Biscuits, which made all the products under licence to the McCartney family, sold to Heinz for £190million ($345 million).

Sir Paul was unavailable for comment.

McCARTNEY'S WIFE SUED OVER CHILDHOOD ABUSE STORY

Sir Paul McCartney's wife Heather Mills is being sued for $95,000 (£50,000) by a childhood friend for reportedly inventing a story that they were both held hostage by a paedophile.

Margaret Ambler has issued a writ claiming the ex-Beatle's spouse breached her privacy after recalling their indecent assault and kidnapping at the hands of their swimming coach during the 1970s in her 2003 autobiography "A Single Step".

According to the suit, Ambler was "extremely distressed and upset" to have been identified in the book and denies they were held hostage in his flat by their abuser.

The writ says, "The private information was mixed with a substantial amount of false and invented information which served to sensationalise and distort the private information which was published."

BACKSTAGE BALLET - MARY MCCARTNEY DONALD AT DIMBOLA LODGE

Mary McCartney Donald's Off Pointe photography exhibition, which runs from May 13 to June 26 2005.

She has photographed celebrities from Jude Law to Blondie, but Mary McCartney Donald's exhibition Off Pointe goes behind the curtains to see the private moments of dancers from The Royal Ballet corps. The results are a combination of reality and glamour.

Mary's love of photography stems from her childhood and her mother, Linda McCartney, who never went anywhere without her camera on her shoulder.

The idea for the exhibition first came about when Mary met Vanessa Fenton, choreographer and member of the Corps de Ballet, in a Soho bar. She was intrigued by the contrast between the gruelling, painful lifestyle and the fairy tale performance.

Mary approached The Royal Ballet for permission to follow the company for three months, including an inspirational period in New York. Photographs taken here expose in graphic detail the reality of the dancers' world.

Many of the black and white shots show unexpected contradictions: a muscular male ballet dancer having a cigarette between acts; naked ballerinas drinking coke in their dressing room at the Opera House; and a dancer eating a huge burger after a night of clubbing.

Mary McCartney Donald has avoided photographing the dancers on stage or in rehearsals, being reluctant to approach such a well-documented subject. What she has captured is exactly what the public want: a voyeuristic peek at what goes on when dancers are off pointe. Some myths are dispelled along the way, with McCartney Donald showing us that dancers work hard but play hard too.

She says of the project, "I was extremely fortunate to get a glimpse of the blood, sweat, tears and laughter that make up a Royal Ballet tour. I have shot portraits of musical figures my entire career but this was a very different and moving experience."
Shows a black and white photo of a female dancer in tights, leaning towards the dressing room mirror to put on make up.

The photographs take a peek at dancers' private moments.

Dimbola Lodge is the former home of pioneering Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, so is an apt venue to be showing the work of another female photographer. Cameron also photographed and mixed in illustrious circles that included the poet Lord Tennyson and other celebrities of the time.

Mary's large photos are composed in ways that create movement and tension. Heads and bodies are sometimes cropped, and big gaps are often left in the shots, which gives the feeling of action, as if an off-duty dancer has just left the space or is about to move into it.

The viewer certainly gets an intimate impression of the behind-the-scenes life of a ballet dancer, with the highs and lows that it brings. Nevertheless, even photographs that are supposed to be harshly realistic end up seeming glamorous.

Shots like one of a lonely dancer climbing stairs at the end of a hard performance or a tired dancer being comforted, may still make some viewers wish they had never given up those ballet lessons when they were young.

Dubbed as Mary McCartney Donald's coming-of-age work, this exhibition proves that she is not successful just because of her name, but for her confident photographs that contain more insight that most.

McCARTNEY'S ROYAL GAFFE

One of rock legend
Sir Paul McCartney's bandmembers committed a royal faux-pas at Queen Elizabeth II's Jubilee concert in London in 2003.

The former Beatle was among a number of rock legends invited to perform to celebrate the monarch's 50th year on the British throne, including Ozzy Osbourne, Brian Wilson and Brian May, but it seems not all the musicians were familiar with all the royal family.

Ozzy reveals, "One of Paul McCartney's band members asked Princess Anne, 'Hey what do you do here?' She replied: 'Good question, actually, my mother lives here.'"

Paul McCartney
joins forces with The Freelance Hellraiser to bring you Twin Freaks (named after a painting McCartney did in 1990) and they are set to take McCartney classic to a new audience in clubs across the country this summer.

The studio wizardry of London based DJ and Producer The Freelance Hellraiser aka Roy Kerr (best known for his unforgettable mash-up the 2002 bootleg 'A Stroke Of Genius') caught the eye of music legend Paul McCartney which resulted in Hellraiser touring Europe with Paul McCartney in the summer of 2004, opening each show with a twenty-five minute set of remixed McCartney tunes, which cumulated in the famous headline performance at Glastonbury.

Kerr has gone back through the musician's entire back catalogue to find material he could transform. Twelve have made the album, including "Maybe I'm Amazed" from his 1970 debut solo album and the first single, "Really Love You" from his 1997 release "Flaming Pie."

"Paul McCartney
has asked me and the band to join Bob Geldof for a 20th anniversary Live Aid show in Hyde Park, London. His (Geldof's) ambition is to persuade the heads of the most powerful western governments (the G8 summit) to write off the African debt. As he puts it, 'Africans are born with this problem not of their own creation and unless we can persuade the governments to excuse the debt, they will always be kept in an inferior position.'"

The eight-bedroom pad on the Van Valkenburg estate in Pasadena, California, featured in the 1960s Batman TV series as the home of the Caped Crusader's alter ego, millionaire Bruce Wayne.

"A few years back, he bought Courtney Love's old home, but it's a bit small for them now."

McCartney attacks animal bill over ritual slaughter

Sir Paul McCartney and Carla Lane, the comedy writer, have criticised the Scottish executive for failing to ban the ritual slaughter of animals.

McCartney who, along with his wife Heather Mills, is a vocal campaigner for animal rights, accused ministers of living in the past by effectively condoning cruelty.

Lane said the executive's failure to ban halal and kosher methods of butchering animals - where their throats are cut without first being stunned - was motivated by political correctness.

Their comments follow the publication in Scotland this week of the draft Animal Health and Welfare Bill, which aims to raise the minimum age for buying animals from 12 to 16. It will also ban giving creatures as prizes, such as goldfish at fairgrounds, and introduce a duty of care on those keeping animals.

Campaigners, who had hoped the legislation would tackle the issue of ritual slaughter, have been angered by what they see as the executive ducking politically sensitive issues.

"I'm unhappy that the Scottish executive has not banned slaughter without pre-stunning as the government has admitted that it is cruel and causes severe distress," said McCartney, whose late wife Linda founded her own vegetarian food range.

"I hope that the politicians will reconsider - after all this is supposed to be a bill to protect animals' welfare and I'm sure we are all aiming for a less cruel world as we move further into a new century."

Lane, who wrote the successful television sitcoms Bread and Butterflies, said she was "appalled" by the executive's position. "Scottish politicians must not tolerate ritual killing in the name of political correctness. Ritual slaughter adds more terror and pain to an act which is in itself inhumane. What God would want that?" she said.

Jenny Seagrove, the actress, added: "Religious slaughter belongs to a time of the past and was initiated for hygiene and animal welfare reasons to stop people at that time cutting off animals' limbs and keeping them alive. However, times have changed and religious slaughter is outdated."

Jews and Muslims believe that meat is not acceptable to eat unless the animal has been killed under certain conditions. Rabbinical rules for the Jewish method, shechita, require animals to be healthy at the time of slaughter and not to have suffered physical injury. Halal meat for Muslims has similar rules, with the animal killed by a cut to the jugular vein.

The RSPCA claims that calves can remain conscious for up to two minutes as they bleed to death.

The Muslim Council of Britain denied that the practice was cruel. "We believe that the Islamic method of slaughter is a most humane way," said Dr Shuja Shafi, the chairman of the council's health and medical committee, and claimed that pre-stunning could subject animals to more distress because it was often not applied properly.

The executive said it planned to carry out a consultation exercise later in the year on the welfare of animals at slaughter and would take the views of critics into consideration. But ministers are not expected to deviate from the position adopted by the UK government which has said halal and kosher methods of killing can continue.

Sir Paul may give us a capital song for 2008

Sir Paul McCartney was the surprise guest at a House of Commons (Parliament) Capital of Culture reception and gave a tongue-in-cheek hint that he may write a song to celebrate 2008.

The Beatles legend delighted 200 guests from the worlds of politics, business and the arts by popping in to a launch of plans for the run-up to Liverpool gaining the title.

By coincidence, Sir Paul had joined a lunch hosted by the Vegetarian Society in the room next to the Capital of Culture gathering, overlooking the River Thames.

He joined the guests in the mistaken belief that his brother, Mike McCartney, a photographer, would be present but stayed to sign autographs on 2008 strategy plans.

And, speaking exclusively to the Daily Post, Sir Paul revealed he was considering adding his own star quality to the 2008 celebrations, now just under 1,000 days away.

He said: "I had to pop in to see if our kid was there, because it would have been so strange if we had both been at the Commons in adjacent rooms.

"But I was also happy to lend my support to the event, because we were all so chuffed at winning the Capital of Culture honour."

Asked if he would play a part in the festivities, Sir Paul said: "I haven't any plans at the moment, but I certainly would not rule it out.

"As we get closer to 2008, I'm sure more plans will be made and other things will happen spontaneously."

And, asked by the Daily Post's reporter if his contribution might be a song to mark 2008, Sir Paul joked: "You could write the words and I will write the music."

What do Paul McCartney, Sammy Davis Jr., and Elvis Presley have in common?
Peggy Lipton had sex with all of them.

Lipton's tells-all in her autobiography "Breathing Out." Her story is clichéd, and her writing's clunky to boot. But that's no matter, because the main reason readers will pick this book up is for its pages on the sexual encounters Lipton--who played the hip chick of TV's undercover Mod Squad in the late 1960s and early '70s--had with Paul McCartney and Elvis.

Born in 1947 and raised on Long Island, Lipton was a model at 15 and had started acting classes by the time her family moved to California a few years later. Hanging out in Hollywood, Lipton soon became a mod version of the "it" girl.

After ridding herself of her virginity, her first goal was to seduce
McCartney. That accomplished, she slept with a series of alcoholic or abusive married men, meanwhile experimenting with a variety of drugs. Her psychedelic adventures with actor Terence Stamp were quintessential Haight-Ashbury; she even had a fling with Elvis: "He was a great kisser," she allows, "but that was about it."

In 1974, she married musician Quincy Jones, who didn't want her to work. A full-time mom until their marriage fell apart, Lipton then struggled with depression and debilitating fatigue, finding strength from her guru, Gurumayi, from acting work and from her two beloved daughters.

There's a lot of '60s and '70s color--joints smoked in the bathroom, an interracial marriage, a trip to an Indian ashram--but it all boils down to an old-fashioned kiss-and-tell.

Live Aid II 'set for Hyde Park'

The Prince's Trust has cancelled its annual Party in the Park concert in London to make way for a possible Live Aid II event.

Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof has so far denied there would be such a concert, billed as Live 8.

But the BBC said it was in "discussions" with Geldof to screen the concert from Hyde Park on 2 July.

Acts linked with the concert include U2, the Rolling Stones, Sir Paul McCartney and Joss Stone.

Chief executive of The Prince's Trust, Martina Milburn, said it was "delighted to support Live 8", and that Party in the Park would return next year.

The concert is expected to support the Make Poverty History campaign, highlighting the situation of millions of children who are dying because of poverty every year.

Artists including U2, Keane and McFly have been lending their support to the cause, and concerts have been organised in cities around the world as part of the campaign.

Washington gig

Although Geldof has played down reports of a Live Aid concert, his spokespeople confirmed there were discussions about holding shows to raise awareness of Africa's plight.

An announcement is expected in the next few days about the Live 8 concert in London. A similar event may also take place on the same day in Washington.

The original Live Aid concert was held in 1985 at Wembley Stadium, and in Philadelphia.

The latest concert would co-incide with the G8 conference being held in Scotland, where the heads of the world's largest economies will discuss alleviating debt.

On June 19th there is a concert celebrating Les Paul's 90th birthday at Carnegie Hall. Paul McCartney has been invited to perform.

Les Paul is the creator of solid-body electric guitars, arguably the most important musical innovation of the past half-century. He credits Paul McCartney, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix for making his guitars popular.

"In my wildest dreams, I never thought I would see so many people using them," said Les Paul. "I owe it to the rock-and-roll players, especially the Jeff Becks, the Paul McCartneys and Jimi Hendrix. All of them were playing a Les Paul guitar."

Lenny Kravitz says McCartney is "a modern-day Mozart"

Q: Who are your favorite musicians today who are the complete package?

Kravitz: Prince, Stevie Wonder. Paul McCartney did it well on his first solo record ("McCartney"); he played all the instruments. Todd Rundgren played them all on his albums. Those guys are all great.

Q: Out of all of The Beatles, save Ringo, McCartney gets the most grief. Why?

Kravitz: It's crazy to give him any grief, but people love to hate. He's a modern-day Mozart. Let's be real. I'd like to see the best writer today write his worst song. A lot of people don't have ears. They don't realize what it takes to write a great song. It's like people say Ringo can't play drums. He's amazing. He's a lyrical drummer. He moves with the music. How can you not love The Beatles and McCartney?

Q: The early videos are much cooler than what's out today.

Kravitz: That's right. Let's look at the "Magical Mystery Tour." Let's go back to The Beatles for a second. That was some psychedelic, strange, weird and beautiful video. I love watching it. It's simple and brilliant.

Shows for 'US' in Columbus, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Seattle, Portland, Houston, Atlanta and Washington all sold-out in under 20 minutes (each), while in Omaha, where McCartney has NEVER performed onstage, tickets for 'US' eclipsed U2 as the city's fastest selling concert event ever (14 minutes). In Toronto, organizers are saying it was their fastest sell-out in recent history 10 minutes. 'US' tickets have become McCartney's fastest selling concert tour ever, even outpacing "Back In The U.S."

Tickets for concerts in Detroit (8 minutes), Boston (10 minutes), Chicago and Philadelphia (15 minutes), San Jose, Anaheim and Los Angeles (18 minutes each) sold-out so fast that 2nd shows were immediately added, which delighted waiting fans.

McCartney has promised all the hits and then some, according to organizers. Not just the classics, but songs that have yet to be or haven't been performed on American soil in nearly 15 years. Set to launch in Miami on September 16th, McCartney's 'US' tour is now slated for 37 performances in 11 weeks.

"Tickets were gone faster then you could say Maccamania," said Brad Wavra, Clear Channel Music Group. "And why shouldn't they be? This is THE concert not to miss."

"The fans have spoken and this is unquestionably THE ticket to have," said Paul Gongaware, AEG Live/Concerts West. "A McCartney concert is one that our children will tell their children about. It's not just a concert, but a guaranteed memory."

"We'll announce more information about our sponsorship within the next few months,' said Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager, Bob Carter. "The extraordinary sell-out of the 'US' Tour is quite impressive and makes our Lexus concert event program that much more desirable."

Two of the fashion industry's most glamorous mums got to share a "baby appreciation" moment together when they ran into each other in trendy Notting Hill this week. Kate Moss, whose daughter Lila Grace is now two years old, showed she was an old hand at motherhood as she dandled Stella McCartney's son Miller on her knee after running into her fellow style icon at a fashionable cafe.

Kate was just about to leave the Tea Palace when she saw Stella arriving with two-month-old Miller in a push chair. Needless to say, the Chanel model decided to stick around for a few minutes so she could have a chat with her old friend. And she may well have offered some useful baby tips to the designer.

Buy Paul McCartney's old Lamborghini on eBay

Just think. You've got McCartney. You've got Linda. Possibly space for a sheepdog in the back. You've got a Lambo. Macca's driving at a cautious 35 mph. Linda's dreaming of lentils. It is 1975.

Fast forward to 2005 and ask yourself this: have I got spare few grand and an eye for a bargain?

Then check out eBay, which has a 1970's Lamborghini Espada for sale that was once owned by Beatles legend and all-round wacky Dad, Paul McCartney.

Resplendent in flame red and with a private plate that is said to have been fitted by Macca himself, this is a chance to gobble up a 350 BHP piece of pop history.

At least that's the theory, since the Italian sportscar has been 'stored in a bar in Stoke for 3 years, high up so it can't get damaged'.

Roadworthy qualities aside, it has nevertheless attracted interest, having seen bids rise from £5,000 ($9,500)on Friday to the current level £10,000 ($19,000). There are 7 days to go.

The reserve has not been met but the car retailed for £9,775 ($18,575) when it came to market more than 30 years ago. Similar cars can be found for sale in the UK for around £18,000 ($34,200).

GELDOF DENIES LIVE AID II INVOLVEMENT

LATEST:
Sir Bob Geldof has rubbished reports he's organised a LIVE AID II concert to coincide with July's G8 summit in Britain.

UK newspapers yesterday claimed music legends Sir Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones had agreed to perform at the July 2nd event in London's Hyde Park, and a spokeswoman for Geldof confirmed the LIVE AID TRUST had been working on a live extravaganza.

The so-called LIVE 8 free concert was reportedly intended to encourage American President George W. Bush to end poverty in Africa when he meets the world's most powerful leaders in Scotland on July 6th.

However, Geldof has rubbished reports of his involvement, insisting he'll never take on a challenge like 1985's LIVE AID again.

He says, "It is kite flying, that's all it is. It is just talk. Why would I possibly repeat something I did 20 years ago?"

Sir Paul's Big Plans - McCartney to release solo disc, launch tour in September

Three years ago, when Sir Paul McCartney last went on the road, he earned $103.3 million--topping Pollstar's list of the year's biggest tours. Only Bruce Springsteen, with his $116 milliion-grossing "Rising" tour in 2003, has beaten the ex-Beatle since. But times have changed. The concert business fell into a malaise last summer, and even Madonna and Prince couldn't bail it out.

Can McCartney's fall arena tour of the U.S., which begins on September 16th, help reverse the trend? Some wonder if too many expensive superstar tours--McCartney charges up to $250 per ticket, the Rolling Stones are expected to be comparable and U2 are close--could spread fans' entertainment budgets too thin. "There's only so much money," says Dennis Arfa, agent for Metallica and others. "Those who get on sale later, they're going to be hurt by the money that's not available."

But Randy Phillips, CEO of AEG Live, which is promoting half the dates on McCartney's Lexus-sponsored tour, says that sixteen of the first seventeen dates sold out quickly. "You couldn't
have a hotter ticket," he says.

McCartney plans to release an album to coincide with the tour. He reportedly intended to bring a band into the studio, but instead, his new producer, longtime Radiohead collaborator Nigel Godrich, suggested he make it alone. So McCartney played most of the instruments, including fluegelhorn and drums, which he played sporadically in the Seventies while fronting Wings.

Nonetheless, since McCartney's February Super Bowl appearance, when he performed "Drive My Car," "Get Back," "Hey Jude" and "Live and Let Die," he's planning to continue playing more Beatles classics. "The interesting thing, now that I've decided it's OK to do Beatles songs, is looking at stuff that I've never done live," he says. "I don't just do a kind of very self-satisfied set for myself. I try and do stuff people are going to want to see."

Stella's designer Adidas

On Saturday the new 30,000-square-foot Adidas store will open in Soho at 610 Broadway, New York city (212) 529-0081.

Stella McCartney's sexy, perpetually sold-out sports line for women ($35 to $210) will be featured.

Unlike the Adidas Originals Store on Wooster that hawks old school, street-style gear, the Sports Performance store will showcase Adidas' new golden children: the Adidas by Stella McCartney apparel line, Mi Adidas technology, and the adidas_1, the world's first intelligent running shoe.

Now that Yohji Yamamoto's Y-3 Adidas line is in its sixth successful season, the company turns to McCartney's clout and talent to capture more of active wear's $39 billion market.

Sales of the around-$250 adidas_1 have no doubt been buoyed by a sweet video/commercial from Spike Jonze, featuring vocals by Yeah Yeah Yeah's frontwoman Karen O. And whether you're an athlete or not, the Mi Adidas section of the shop will allow you to customize your sneakers for fit and function and even choose colors and personalized monograms (the shoe arrives in the mail three weeks later). This is apparently the only place in New York to score all three: adidas_1 and Adidas by Stella McCartney have sold out elsewhere, and Mi Adidas is only available in-house.

McCartney's wife gets U.S. soap role

McCartney's
wife, Heather Mills, has landed a minor role on NBC's daytime drama, "Days of Our Lives."

Mills, 37, will portray a counselor to a wounded soldier who lost a limb in combat, Hello Magazine.com reported Monday.

Mills lost her leg in 1993 when she was hit by a police motorcycle and has spent over a decade campaigning to help amputees in poor countries and against land mines, which earned her a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

McCartney met Mills at a charity function in 1999, a little more than a year after his longtime wife and musical collaborator, Linda, succumbed to cancer.

The musician and model were married in 2002 and have a 1-year-old daughter, Beatrice Milly McCartney.

STELLA LOOKS FOR PRIVATE SCHOOL

Stella McCartney
has already begun searching for a private school for her two-month-old son Miller.

The designer criticised her parents, former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and his late wife Linda, after they sent her to a state school in East Sussex, England.

And she seems determined to make sure her offspring - her first child with husband of two years Alasdhair Willis, doesn't suffer the same hardship.

The couple were conspicuous guests at an open day for parents of prospective pupils at London's popular private Notting Hill Preparatory School yesterday.

The McCartneys went out of their way to send Stella and her siblings James and Mary to Thomas Peacocke comprehensive school, near her family's estate in Peasmarsh, to keep their feet on the ground and give them the chance to mix with ordinary children.

But, during an interview in 2002, the Gucci designer said of her time at the school, "I didn't go around thinking what benefits there are for me going to a comprehensive. But I could look after myself. I was a bully for a while."

McCartney announces "private project" with English DJ

Former-Beatle
Paul McCartney has two new projects up his sleeve for 2005. The first one is his new studio album. The work is being produced by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead) and will be released in time for the "US" tour that starts in Miami on September 16 and finishes in Los Angeles on November 30.

The other project by McCartney is Twin Freaks. Kept secret until now, the group includes British producer/DJ Freelance Hellraiser, also known as Roy Kerr. The two met prior to McCartney's 2004 summer tour, where Hellraiser opened the concerts with a 25 minute set of McCartney mash-up music.

The Twin Freaks album will be released on June 21st and will be available exclusively in digital format and as a double vinyl 12'' album with a gatefold jacket from EMI (UK).

The first single "Really Love You," is a remix of the original song from the "Flaming Pie" album. The song will be released on June 6th. The project expects to take the McCartney classics to nightclubs around the world."

TWIN FREAKS are in the process of putting the finishing touches to their first full album to be released later in the year. "Really Love You" and "Lallula" are just a taste of what's to come.

Heather Mills to make acting debut in top U.S. soap

Having already proven her mettle as a model, human rights campaigner and talk show host, Heather Mills is now turning her attention to acting. Sir Paul McCartney's wife will soon be showing off her thespian talents after landing a minor role in the popular American soap opera Days Of Our Lives.

Her part shouldn't require too much research, though: the 37-year-old already has a great deal in common with her character. Heather, who is well-known for her work with landmines victims, will appear as a counsellor for people who have lost limbs. She will offer some words of wisdom to a wounded soldier who finds himself facing the biggest challenge of his life after returning from combat with serious injuries.

The pretty blonde, who lost her leg in 1993 when she was hit by a police motorcycle, has spent over a decade campaigning to help amputees in poor countries. And no-one has been more impressed by her efforts than her rock star husband, who has penned a new song in tribute to her.

"Hometown Papers," which will feature on Sir Paul's latest album, criticises newspapers that have tried to portray his wife in a negative light. The song includes the lyrics: "They said she was a gold digger, they said I was a fool, they said I was rich and crazy and she was beautiful but crude."
