Paul McCartney's "Ecce Cor Meum" DVD (US & Canada)
DVD recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 3, 2006
CLICK TO ORDER
Paul McCartney's recent "classical" oratorio
is called Ecce Cor Meum, which translates as "Behold My Heart."
The idealistic texts, also by McCartney, are meditations on goodness,
spirituality, peace, and love, and are well served by the pretty,
Romantic melodies; the long choral and orchestral sections flow
one into the next. The Interlude (composed after the death of
his wife, Linda), with its lovely oboe solo, is simple and moving.
The music builds throughout to an emotional climax and the entrance
of the organ later in the work--beautifully played and handsomely
recorded--is quite remarkable. This is a far more advanced work
than 1991's Liverpool Oratorio: better orchestrated, more through-composed.
No, it's not the last word in compositional sophistication, but
it has many beautiful moments, and McCartney's legions of fans
will need to own it.

"Goin' Home: A Tribute to Fats Domino,"

CLICK LINK TO ORDER
It wasn't until Fats Domino's
New Orleans house was heavily damaged in Hurricane Katrina that
many people realized the great R&B pioneer was still alive.
The iconic musician suffered more than damage to his house in
Katrina--looters stole many of his possessions, including his
'50s gold records.
Domino had a tremendous influence on '50s popular music, his infectious
boogie-woogie and triplet-based piano style forming much of the
DNA of rock, and influencing scores of artists from Elvis Presley
to the Beatles and beyond. To show their appreciation, a plethora
of luminaries from rock, jazz, R&B, country, folk, and blues
have united for this two-disc, 30-track valentine to Domino.
Occasionally, things stray
remarkably far from Domino's blueprint (jazz great Herbie Hancock
churns it up with George Porter, Jr., Zigaboo Modeliste, and Renard
Poche on "I'm Gonna be a Wheel Someday"), while Paul McCartney goes the other route, offering a too-worshipful
vocal impersonation ("I Want to Walk You Home,"),
with fellow legend Allen Toussaint on piano.

work and Jarreau's unmistakable vocals give this jazz collaboration
a truly one-of-kind sound. And in exclusive High Definition Surround,
George and Al sound more amazing than ever. With HDS, Givin' It
Up delivers harmonic depth and tonal richness that will garner
appreciation from pop and jazz aficionados alike. Whether you're

genius for the first time, Givin' It Up is a treat for music fans

Givin' It Up was recorded between April and June, 2006. Serendipitously,
pop legend, Paul
McCartney, happened to be
in the studio next door during one session and dropped in to join
Benson and Jarreau on an impromptu romp through Sam Cooke's "Bring
it on Home to Me."

ECCE COR MEUM (BEHOLD
MY HEART) (CD)Originally commissioned by Magdalen College Oxford to commemorate the 550th anniversary of the foundation of the college in 1998, "Ecce Cor Meum [Behold My Heart]" is an Oratorio written for Magdalen College Choir, Oxford by Sir Paul McCartney.
It is scored for choir and orchestra and there are four movements, each of which begins with unaccompanied voices and the text combines both English and Latin. The music is full of colour and drama and, of course, a wealth of glorious McCartney melody.
The work's centrepiece, "Interlude
(Lament)" is a deeply moving instrumental tribute to McCartney's
late wife Linda.
Paul recounts, "The interlude, which I find the saddest moment
was very much to do with her passing. There's something very sad
about those chords in the interval with oboe playing over them.
I find that quite mysterious how an instrumental passage can reduce
you to tears."
The first performance Ecce,
as a work in progress took place at the Sheldonian Theatre in
2001 and this is McCartney's 4th album on EMI Classics - and it
has been a labour of love with more than 8 years in the making.
It features Boys of King's College Choir, Boys of Magdalen College
Choir, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and EMI Debut artist
Kate Royal.

"High In The
Clouds"
by Paul McCartney, Geoff Dunbar & Philip
Ardagh (Paperback)Imagine a land where all the
animals are free . . . To the creatures of the woodland, the land
of Animalia sounds like a dream a tropical island where
all the animals live in harmony. They are over-shadowed by a much
more evil community; the polluted Megatropolis, whose dirty skyscrapers
block the horizon. And then one day, Wirral the Squirrel's woodland
is destroyed by developers and he is thrown into the nightmare
world of Megatropolis. But Wirral believes in Animalia and he
joins with Froggo, a world-class amphibian balloonist, and Wilhamina,
a girl squirrel, to lead the enslaved animals of the city to a
new life. So begins an exciting adventure through the mean streets
of Megatropolis, over the sea and through the sky. Developed out
of an exceptional fusion of creative talents, this story explodes
onto every page. The plot is fast, furious and funny; the illustrations
are full of rich depth and colour; and the characters live on
long after you have turned the final page.
"High in the Clouds" has developed out of an exceptional
fusion of talents, and the result is a book that will delight
children of all ages and is sure to become an enduring classic.

Sir Paul McCartney has signed
with Penguin Young Readers Group to publish his children's picture
book, "High in the Clouds: An Urban Furry Tale," in
the United States on October 4, 2005. The initial US print-run
is planned at 500,000 copies.
"Having worked on this story and the characters for many years, it's very exciting for me to see things come to fruition in what I think will be a remarkable book," said Paul McCartney.
For the project, McCartney teamed up with veteran children's book author, Philip Ardagh and animator, Geoff Dunbar. The story for High in the Clouds was inspired by an animated film called "Tropic Island Hum" on which Dunbar and McCartney had collaborated.
"This is going to be a major best-seller for us, and I know that a whole new generation of readers will become fans of Paul," says Doug Whiteman, the President of Penguin Young Readers Group who brokered the deal with the Editorial Director of Faber and Faber UK; Suzy Jenvey.
The book will be published
under the Dutton Children's Book imprint of Penguin Young Readers
Group, a division of Penguin Group (USA).

Between 1963 and 1970, Paul McCartney sold 160 million albums throughout the
world; co-authored with John Lennon twenty-five
US and UK number one singles; recorded the first rock album with
Rubber Soul and established the concept of rock-as-art with Sergeant
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. As a member of the most important
rock band ever, Paul McCartney compelled millions of kids to pick
up electric guitars and others to burn vinyl. He helped usher
in the Swinging Sixties, the Love Generation, rock n' roll's studio
era, and left the world dumbfounded when the Fab Four called it
quits in the early 70s. However, to this day McCartney remains
one of the world's most beloved and respected musicians.
McCartney is a tale of self-destruction and epic excess as well as creative genius and brilliant music. The Beatles' bloody in-fighting, the sex, the drugs, and McCartney's extraordinary marriages are revealed here in full. Yet, while the revelations will genuinely astound, this book remains a celebratory feast for millions of fans, capturing the glorious rush of the best songs and revealing the untold stories behind them. McCartney is the definitive biography, charting not only the pop legend, but the man and his era.
"Jenny Wren" is both a soulful and mournful song with a simple and incredibly effective arrangement. It's difficult not to be moved by the heart tugging melody. It's an acoustic track in the style of much loved McCartney songs 'Mother Nature's Son', 'Calico Sky' and 'Blackbird'. McCartney in fact describes the track as "daughter of blackbird."

When Brian Ray decided to record his first solo CD, he didn't have to look far for a supporting cast. The award winning songwriter for Smokey Robinson, guitarist and musical director for Etta James, now on tour as guitarist and bassist with Paul McCartney simply asked some of his mentors and friends to help him out.
When he asked the legendary blues singer Etta James if she would sing with him on the CD her answer was simple - and immediate - "I'll do anything for Brian." Not surprising considering the bond the two had developed over the years Brian had spent as her musical director and guitarist. "She's family to me, really," he explains. The rest of the players were a few more of his best friends - Scott Shriner from Weezer, Davey Faragher from Elvis Costello's band, Abe Laboriel, Jr., Wix Wickens and Rusty Anderson from Paul McCartney's band all appear on the album with Brian. The collaborators? Oliver Lieber, Adam Cohen, Tonio K.
The resulting album, Mondo Magneto, is filled with fresh, stylish songs, lyrics and catchy melodies that stay with you long after your first listening. It's a pop record that rocks and a rock record with pop radio sensibility. "What was really fun for me about making this album," Brian explains, "was that every person involved came into the studio and brought their own personality to the sessions. And that shows on the CD."

On May 24, 2003, McCartney

"Undressing Underwater"
- Rusty Anderson (Audio CD)
CLICK LINK TO ORDER !!!
Featuring guest appearances by Paul McCartney
and Stewart Copeland, Undressing Underwater shines the
spotlight on the guitarist/singer/songwriter career of a consummate
musician, who continues to break ground while working with some
of the best of his peers.
Undressing Underwater showcases Anderson's musical background,
which spins through Oscar-nominated and Grammy-winning work, from
Paul McCartney, Perry Farrell and the Wallflowers, to Elton John,
Joe Cocker and Sinead O'Connor. The ten songs on Undressing
Underwater pair Anderson's vocal range with showcase of his
talents, from rock guitar to hammered dulcimer and pedal steel.
Hurt Myself is the lead track, which is also the culmination
of a childhood dream of playing with the Beatles, only in this
case it's Paul McCartney playing on Rusty's own album, plus the
rest of McCartney's touring band and producer David Kahne.
Anderson's background also includes a stint with Stewart Copeland
and Stanley Clarke's Animal Logic, and over the years he and Stewart
have continued working together. The former Police drummer returns
the favor on rocker Catbox Beach.
"My house is filled with billions of cassettes, little scraps
of paper and journals. Somehow these bits bonded together and
became the CD," said Anderson. "Most of the recordings
were done in between touring with Paul. In fact, the Hurt Myself
session was booked in lightning speed, because after Paul said
he wanted to record something, I realized we only had three days
in LA before flying to Mexico City to play shows. The songs are
mostly about facing one's demons and attempting to bottle them."
"Peggy Lipton:
Breathing Out" (Book)
CLICK ABOVE
LINK TO ORDER
What do Paul
McCartney, Sammy Davis Jr.,
and Elvis Presley have in common? Peggy Lipton had sex with all of them.
Lipton's story is clichéd, and her writing's clunky to
boot. But that's no matter, because the main reason readers will
pick this book up is for its pages on the sexual encounters Lipton-who
played the hip chick of TV's undercover Mod Squad in the
late 1960s and early '70s-had with Paul McCartney and Elvis.
Born in 1947 and raised on Long Island, Lipton was a model at
15 and had started acting classes by the time her family moved
to California a few years later. Hanging out in Hollywood, Lipton
soon became a mod version of the "it" girl.
After ridding herself of her virginity, her first goal was to
seduce McCartney. That accomplished, she slept with a series of
alcoholic or abusive married men, meanwhile experimenting with
a variety of drugs. Her psychedelic adventures with actor Terence
Stamp were quintessential Haight-Ashbury; she even had a fling
with Elvis: "He was a great kisser," she allows, "but
that was about it."
In 1974, she married musician Quincy Jones, who didn't want her
to work. A full-time mom until their marriage fell apart, Lipton
then struggled with depression and debilitating fatigue, finding
strength from her guru, Gurumayi, from acting work and from her
two beloved daughters. There's a lot of '60s and '70s color-joints
smoked in the bathroom, an interracial marriage, a trip to an
Indian ashram-but it all boils down to an old-fashioned kiss-and-tell.

Photojournalist Jorie Gracen
is a McCartney maven by avocation. In this neat rock bio, her
photos take center stage, and the text describes the vicissitudes
of various McCartney and Wings tours. The occasional rock road
show revelation is definitely included. For instance, Gracen recounts
the 12-minute film used to open concerts on the 1993 world tour.
"This film showcased a musical history of the rock star with
some never-before-seen footage of the Beatles, . . . home movies
of the McCartney family, and some graphic scenes of vivisection,
animal mutilation and torture." The latter were parts of
"McCartney's ongoing campaign against animal cruelty."
Yow! All that and silly love songs, too.
Does the mop-top knight know how to put on a show, or what? Politics
and gory visuals at rock concerts--shades of Marilyn Manson!--aside,
this is a feel-good book for boomers. Uncritical and packed with
pix and exasperatingly upbeat anecdotes, it is a must-have item
for Beatlemaniacs.

"In Other Words" collects the most intimate
and revealing interviews by Anthony DeCurtis, who, in the course
of a distinguished 25-year career, has earned a reputation for
approaching his craft with depth, seriousness and sensitivity.
In depth Interviews with Paul McCartney and George Harrison are featured in his book.
His many subjects - music legends, movie directors, artistic provocateurs,
up-and-coming talents, visionary songwriters - all speak with
rare candor about the meanings within and the motivations behind
their best work. Many of these interviews - which originally appeared
in Rolling Stone, The New York Times and other publications -
have been significantly expanded.
DeCurtis has also written new introductions that tell the story
behind these stories, transforming this collection into an episodic
memoir of a life on the front lines of cultural journalism. These
gripping conversations will make readers feel that they are sitting,
as DeCurtis did, at a dinner table or in a quiet room alone, learning
everything they want to know about some of the most revered artists
of our time.
"Looking back on it with John, he was a really great guy.
I always idolized him. We always did, the group. I don't know
if the others will tell you that, but he was our idol. He was
like our own little Elvis in the group." - Paul McCartney.
"I've always referred to the Beatles as elevator music, because
that's exactly what they were." - Michael Stipe.

before published and insider details, Each One Believing takes
you behind the scenes for an exclusive look into a private world.
Based on Paul McCartney's most celebrated tour since The Beatles,
it weaves Paul's own personal reflections -- along with those
of his wife,
Heather, his band, and his
crew -- together with hundreds of dynamic images by the tour's
official photographer, Bill Bernstein, showing both Paul's public
appearances and the quiet, one-on-one moments. What drives him
to perform? What does it feel like to sing the songs that have
touched so many of our lives? This remarkable journey takes us
from New York in the days following 9/11, when Paul wrote "Freedom";
across North America, Europe, and Japan; to his historic show
in Moscow's Red Square, "because, having written 'Back in
the USSR', I wanted to go there and play that."
Poignant and candid, funny and illuminating, "Each One Believing"
is a road trip unlike any other.

"Band On The

McGee (Book)

In this text, Garry McGee traces the history of Wings, the group
Paul McCartney formed after the break-up of the Beatles.
The text delves into the inner dynamics of the group, the role
of Linda McCartney, its commercial and artistic success
and its demise.
Just as Disney fans are either "Mouse" or "Duck"
people, Beatlemaniacs are either John or Paul people. Although
perhaps not without interest to both camps, McGee's book aims
at Paul people who are also Wings fans, which raises some special
challenges, such as evaluating Linda McCartney's contribution
to the band and Paul's willingness to share credit and remuneration
for Wings' commercial success. McGee is frank about the latter.
For instance, he cites Denny Laine's situation vis-a-vis "Mull
of Kintyre," for which he should have been paid millions
but, as a contractual collaborator, got very little. Such was
doing business within Wings. As for Linda's musicianship, while
no one lauds her keyboard virtuosity, and some disdain her singing,
Wings guitarist Henry McCullough says, "it didn't make any
difference because she was playing a part"-- rather like
hired hand Sid Vicious in the Sex Pistols, eh? McCartney says
he doesn't regret Wings or think it was "that much of a mess."
High praise. As a book-length exploration of McCartney's first
post-Beatles band, this is the stuff.
"The Unknown
McCartney" by Ian Peel (Book)
Throughout his career, McCartney has
initiated and participated in projects that have taken him very
far away from the kind of music associated with his career in
The Beatles, in Wings, and as a solo artist. From as far back
as the 1960s there have been experimental solo projects, both
under his own name and incognito. These include the legendary
'Carnival of Light' sixties freak-out, the Percy Thrillington
diversion in the 70s, techno, ambient and chill-out releases as
The Fireman, pure noise performance art as well as less-publicized
activity, much of which Ian Peel now reveals in depth in print
for the first time. What emerges is a unique, critical insight
into an apparently over-familiar public figure Paul McCartney,
avant-garde musician. To quote the title of Chapter 10, it's all
"a long way off the Frog Chorus."
Undertaking extensive research
for this book, Ian Peel interviewed many of McCartney's intimate
musical associates from this less-familiar side of his career.

Paul
McCartney
released a DVD that candidly reveals the intimate backstage life
on the road, alongside a 2-CD live set of his most triumphant
tour since The Beatles.
The three-hour "rock 'n' road movie" will take fans right inside Paul McCartney's acclaimed current tour, giving access to all areas previously kept private from the public -- going inside the dressing rooms, seeing scenes from the back seat of his personal limo and even aboard his chartered jet. There is no wedding footage as rumored.
The "Back In The U.S." DVD includes performances of Paul and his new band at sound check that have never been shown before -- plus footage of more than 30 classic songs filmed at shows all across America and presented in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound.
"This
feels like a very
special tour and because of that we wanted
to film not only the great shows we've been enjoying but also
reveal to people what we're doing when we're not doing the show.
There are a lot of private moments on the DVD -- it'll be like
a backstage pass to the intimate zones where most people never
get," said Paul, who has just started "Back In The U.S.,"
the second leg of his 50-date American tour.
The "Back In The U.S." DVD released on November 26th -- together with a "Back In The U.S. Live 2002" double CD AUDIO that features a 36-song set list of new live recordings from the all-hits show that has rocked America.
The 36 songs on the new 2-CD live album: "All My Loving," "Band On The Run," "Back In The U.S.S.R.," "Blackbird," "Coming Up," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Carry That Weight," "C Moon," "Driving Rain," "Every Night," "Eleanor Rigby," "The End," "Freedom," "Fool On The Hill," "Getting Better," "Hello Goodbye," "Here Today," "Here There And Everywhere," "Hey Jude," "I Saw Her Standing There," "Jet," "Lonely Road," "Let Me Roll It," "Live And Let Die," "Let It Be," "Lady Madonna," "The Long And Winding Road," "Mother Nature's Son," "Maybe I'm Amazed," "My Love," "Something," "Sergeant Pepper," "Vanilla Sky," "We Can Work It Out," "Your Loving Flame" and "Yesterday." The songs do not include Paul's stage banter between tracks.
"We recorded the album at various shows on the first leg of the U.S. tour in the spring and I'm excited by the sound that we've got with this new band of mine," said Paul McCartney. "I wanted the album to capture the spirit of some magical nights on the road as a lifelong reminder for the great crowds who shared them with us."
Alongside Paul
in the Back In The U.S. band are Rusty Anderson and Brian Ray
on guitars, Abe Laboriel, Jr. on drums and Paul "Wix"
Wickens on keyboards.

"Blackbird Singing" Poems and lyrics by Paul McCartney (Hardcover Book)

To actually read Paul McCartney's
poems, whether exuberant love ballads or poignant messages of
deepest grief, is to revel in the sheer power of language and
to appreciate the electrifying confluence of dream and song. His
words are as pure and magical as we remember them. Here, in his
first collection of poems and lyrics, McCartney emerges with a
dreamlike yet thoroughly mature voice that confirms his stature
as one of the most original and best-loved poets of our time.
Inspired by his late wife,
Linda McCartney, "Blackbird Singing" gives
us extraordinary access to the inner life of one of the most influential
figures of twentieth-century culture. Whether commenting on the
strange unpredictability of life ("Little Willow") or
the heinous folly of nuclear weapons ("Chasing the Cherry"),
no one is more able than McCartney to use language to soar above
the selfishness and intolerance that can bring us down. The poems
here demonstrate, against an acknowledgment of the solitariness
of existence, an irrepressible belief in the power of words and
music "to take a sad song and make it better."

"Wingspan" is an
intimate scrapbook charting how Paul McCartney's
band, Wings, became one of the biggest selling acts of the 1970's
with memorable hits like "Band on the Run," "My
Love," "With a Little Luck," "Live and Let
Die," "Junior's Farm," "Jet," and many
others. At the same time, Paul and his wife, Linda, a fellow band
member, were raising a family at home and on the road. This book
is a personal record of Wings' beginnings after the break up of
the world's most celebrated rock group, the Beatles, through to
the 1980's. Apart from a unique insight into the dynamics of a
hugely popular band and an extraordinary marriage, WINGSPAN brings
back memories of some of the wonderful songs and how they were
written, recorded and performed. Written by Paul with many photographs
of the band including Linda's photos.

Wingspan is the inside story
of how Paul
and Linda McCartney dared
to follow the Beatles with their rock band Wings. The story of
Paul and Linda McCartney's early years together is intimately
shared through series of candid conversation with their daughter,
Mary. Home movies, family photos, and rare footage draw viewers
into a very personal story of love and family. Combined with the
against-all-odds success of Wings, Paul and Linda prove that there
is life after The Beatles. 90 minutes.
Additional features
The choicest DVD bonus is 22 additional minutes of interview footage
cut from the program; much of it is McCartney's fascinating discussion
of how songs materialize, with "Picasso's Last Words,"
"Mrs. Vanderbilt," and "Let Me Roll It" played
as examples. Three videos are included: "Rockestra"
immortalizes an historic session involving dozens of musicians,
while "Jet" and "Let 'Em In" are taken from
McCartney's concert film, Rockshow.

Glee at the destruction of
convention and morality, "all that made America great,"
pervades these intense photographs by an entranced chronicler
of the 1960s pop-music scene in America.
McCartney early on filched an invitation to a Rolling Stones party
concert invitation and soon became the main lensperson at Manhattan's
Fillmore East and on the road with top groups--Beatles,
Stones, Doors, Cream, Jefferson Airplane et al. The photos show
McCartney to have been a talented photojournalist, but her subjects
here are so busy breaking rhythmic barriers, assuming attitudes,
striking poses and being ungroomed that they are pictorial in
their own right.
Her accompanying recollections, including those of life with husband
Paul and the Beatles, are uncluttered and minimally
worshipful.
"Linda McCartney
: A Portrait" by Danny Fields (Hardcover Book)

Featuring never before published interviews with Linda and Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney: A Portrait is an insiders look at one of rock music's most enduring marriages, and an intimate portrait of Linda herself and of her over thirty-year friendship with Danny Fields.
When Linda married Paul she instantly found herself the focus of the intense scorn and envy of millions of women around the world - women who hoped and prayed her relationship to their beloved Beatle Paul would not last. But it did last for nearly thirty years. Reviled and dismissed at first, Linda withstood the pressures of fame, fortune, and intense public scrutiny to make her own lasting contribution to the world as an artist, author, animal rights activist, and businesswoman. Her death in 1998 of breast cancer sent shock waves throughout the world, and a collective grief at her passing is an ironic counterpart to the contempt that greeted the news of her marriage to Paul.
Included are interviews with
members of Wings and stories from friends, family, and stars of
the rock world. Linda McCartney: A Portrait is Field's
poignant remembrance and fond farewell to his lifelong friend.

Vegan Cookbook" (Book)

Fun to look at and to read, easy to execute, relatively yummy
and morally irresistible, this collection of vegan recipes from
a wide array of notables adds up to a powerful argument against
the Atkins low-carbohydrate diet, which encourages the heavy consumption
of meat and animal products. In his brief introduction, James
Cromwell, who played the laconic but lovable Farmer Hoggett in
the 1995 hit movie Babe, describes how his time on the set surrounded
by smart, friendly little pigs made it impossible for him to eat
pork and indeed any meat ever again.
Recipes are provided by a range of famous names, from Alicia Silverstone
(who shares her recipe for "Steamy, Creamy Artichoke Dip")
to Sir Paul
McCartney ("All You Need
Is Avocado Soup," etc.) to that surprisingly vegan cult TV
figure William Shatner (and why wasn't his bean dip called "Bean
Me Up Scotty!"?). Other celebs include Fiona Apple, Bob Barker,
Jackie Chan and Bea Arthur. Some assertions here about the harmful
effects of animal fat on the body have been challenged by recent
research supporting Atkins's long-held contention that adding
fat to our diet may actually help us slim down and get healthy.
Still, there's little arguing with the compelling vision of living
and eating in a way that doesn't harm other creatures. Even non-veggies
will enjoy the wit and four-color photos lavished throughout this
book.

Paul McCartney writes in the foreword about the turning
point in his attitude towards food, "I was sitting with Linda eating a dinner of roast lamb and watching the
sheep that lived in the field outside our window.
"Seeing the lambs running up and down the field with such joy made us question the wisdom of eating such beautiful creatures."
