BOBBY LAWSON

One of Park's greatest Triple Jumper's (School indoor record holder at 46' 6 1/2"). The Milwaukee Area Conference indoor record holder at 45' 10". State University indoor champion as a freshman (U.W. Oshkosh). Jumped 49' in college. He only jumped 17' in the long jump as a 9th grader. Bobby was not a hard worker as a sophomore but learned the importance of hard work and became a great jumper.

JERRY WOODS

Jerry placed fourth in the Pole Vault at the W.I.A.A. State Meet as a junior and also qualified for the state meet as a senior. He was a leader. He never shot his mouth off about how good he was, he just proved it by his success. Jerry was a modest individual. He was also a very successful football and basketball player and went to Northern Michigan University on a football scholarship. Jerry was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1989 and played defensive back for the Greenbay Packers. Jerry was successful because he worked hard, had a great attitude, and was not just a one sport athlete. HOW SUCCESSFUL DO YOU WANT TO BE??

GEORGE JONES -1984

Fourth in the state meet in the 110 High Hurdles and third in the 300 Low Hurdles. In his senior year, George qualified for the state meet in three events: 1 10 High Hurdles, 300 Low Hurdles, and 1600 Meter Relay. It is hard enough to qualify for the state meet in one event, let alone three. George was one of the finest track and field athletes ever to compete at Park, yet he only came out for track in his junior year. How good could he have been if he had been out for three years? Four years?

BILL TAYLOR

Bill had better than average speed but did not possess great athletic ability. He still lettered for three years at Park in Track. Many people with much more ability could never beat him because they were not willing to work as hard. For a person with just average speed and little natural spring in his legs, Bill jumped 21' 3" in the long jump. He qualified for the state meet in the 300 Hurdles and the 1600 Meter Relay in both his junior and senior years. Bill got this far because he wanted it very badly and was willing to work very hard to get as far as he did. HOW BAD DO YOU WANT SUCCESS? HOW HARD ARE YOU WILLING TO WORK TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS??

JOHN CONLEY

A 46' 5" triple jumper and 22'2" long jumper at Park. John placed 5th in the state meet in the long jump as a senior and lead the state as a triple jumper in his junior and senior years. John did not posses a great deal of speed (24.5 in the 200 meters) so had to work very hard to achieve the success that he achieved.

DENNIS THOMPSON

Pound for pound, one of the greatest Shot Putters in Park Track history. At 5'10" and 175 pounds, Dennis had a best throw of 47'10". As a sophomore he only threw 32'. Dennis had excellent technique and worked on this harder than any shot putter that I have ever coached. If other weightmen with better size and strength would work this hard, they could throw 60'. Dennis is now the Shot Put and Discus coach for the Park High School Boys Track Team.

MUHBISH-SHIR MUHAMMAD -1986

Mubah was the 1986 State Champion in the Long Jump. He jumped over 23 feet 6 times during his senior year and set the Park indoor record of 23' 2 1/4". Attended Mankato State University in Minnesota and was an NCAA All American in the 200 Meters and 100 Meters in 1989.

SCOTT ROGALSKY - 1988

Scott threw the discus 152' as a Senior in 1988. This was the second best throw ever by a Park High School Track Athlete. Three days a week, Scott would practice at 6:00 A.M. in addition to regular practice after school. THIS IS THE WAY A CHAMPION TRAINS AND SCOTT WAS A CHAMPION
