The "Arpeggione" Triode Amplifier
Based on the Walton Audio 300B MK1.5 SET amplifier. At the moment I use Osram L63, RCA 6J5GT, Svetlana 300B and Mullard GZ37 tubes.

With 3mm aluminium top plate
Aluminium under the film
Trying the layout.. I made a paper template to center the holes
T-nuts in the base for applying the spikes
Drilling the tube socket holes...
The step-drill in action, with some oil to avoid excessive heating
Finishing the tube socket holes..
51 and 64 mm Drill bits for the PSU capacitors
All holes done!
First polishing with Emery paper. We used 100, 220, 550, 800 & 1200 types
Claeaning the plate with a spray de-greaser
Washing accurately the aluminium..
The cabinet ready after the polishing
The ASC 50uF bias cap for the 6J5 driver is placed inside the cabinet
Applying rubber grommets for TXs mechanical insulation..
All grommets in place
Screws with the grommets. All the screws used are non-magnetic inox ones
Screws using grommets have to be blocked with some Loctite glue
I use two little grommets for insulate the UX4 socket for the 300B
The two half grommets are glued to avoid that the screw touch the socket
Here you can see the socket screwed to the top plate
Oil-Filled ASC PSU capacitor in place
Sockets, bias res and cap in place
It begins to look like an amplifier!!!
Wooden sides screwed to the top plate
AC wiring from the PTX
Heaters wiring

Heaters wiring
Silver ground buss in place
5% carbon resisitors have been selected and matched in pairs
Each tag has been cleaned before the soldering
Input & driver sections completed from the front
Input & driver sections completed from the rear
PSU section completed
COMPLETED!! Rear view..
Front view..
Inside Left channel and Right channel
I changed the humpot to a Clarostat because the Vishay was noisy
The two channels just completed! Now they are perfectly silent
And this is my little labo where I built them: 1,4 X 1,8 meters!
The final result! A GREAT sound!

In order: L63, 6J5GT, 300B, 5Z4C
Some like it hot...
