Daisey was a cleaning lady at the Art Institute of Chicago. She had been posing for art students from at least the mid 1950's when Herbert Pannier was a student there.

Frank Pannier was profoundly affected by the early death of his friend, former classmate and fellow artist, Ted Argeropolos.

In the Red series, Pannier dedicated four (Ted's Station #1-4) of the 11 paintings to Argeropolos.
