The precise-Fit tracking harness is specifically designed to transfer the pulling strain from the chest band to a "D" ring at a point on the back, where the long lead is attached, without restriction. In order to accomplish this and to keep the chest band in proper position, the transfer is initiated at a specific point relative to the point of the dog's shoulder. The length of the chest band is critical. When the proper length is combined with the overall design, the chest band will NOT ride up to choke the dog.
Just slip the harness over the dog's head and attach the belly strap to the"D" ring. The dog can remain standing while donning the harness, since the front legs do not have to be placed into the harness.
There is no center-line piece between the front legs to restrict movement. A proper size Precise-Fit harness will in no way restrict free leg and shoulder movement, nor will it ride up to the throat.
The adjustments on all bands are"closed end". In other words, there are no adjustments that can allow the dog to completely slip out of the harness.
The harness is constructed of polypropylene webbing with a tensile strength of over 500 pounds. The webbing is very resistant to water absorption, remaining soft and quite dry in wet tracking conditions, The "D" rings are welded stainless steel and nickel plated steel. The adjustment devices are heavy duty high impact plastic. The Precise-Fit harness is available either padded or non-padded, The padding material is closed-cell neoprene wet suit material. This material is highly resistant to snagging and collection of burrs, as well as being non-absorbent and gentle to the dog's skin and coat.
The proper size chest band is absolutely necessary for a proper fit. Therefore, an accurate measurement from point to point off the shoulder is absolutely critical. The chest band is constructed using this measurement without any available adjustments, to to ensure the band will not ride up. The "D" rings at the ends of the chest band allow for flexibility and conformation of both the diagonal and horizontal bands.
Since the entire force of the pull is transferred to the lead ring through the diagonal bands, a special "ladder lock" adjustment device is used to prevent slipping.
Adjustment and conformation of the vertical and horizontal bands are attained by the use of "D rings" and Tri-glide adjusters.
The Belly band is permanently attached, but is adjustable on both sides to ensure that the adjusters can be positioned well away from sensitive areas.
