Page 5 -- Installing the Phakt PHP Server Model

To install the Phakt PHP server model for UltraDev, it's quite simple.

NOTE: It is HIGHLY recommended that Mac users boot directly into OS 9 to perform these steps to avoid installation complications of the Phakt PHP server model. Downloading and installing the Extension Manager (MXP) file from Classic mode can cause problems with Extension Manager's ability to parse the file.

  1. Visit the Interakt web site and download the latest version of the Phakt server model.

    Note:
Phakt only works with UltraDev version 4.x as of the time of this writing. It will not work with version 1.x.

  2. Using the Macromedia Extension Manager, install the Phakt server model.

    NOTE for Mac Users:
Occasionally, the downloaded MXP file will fail to install properly on the Mac for reasons unknown. If it will not install correctly, download the unarchived version of the Phakt server model, decompress it, then double-click the included MXI file. Extension manager will build a new MXP file and install it for you.

  3. PC users should be ready to go. Mac users, please reboot your computer into OS X.
