Notes on the 1900 Census
  • The above census data was found by Dave Jordan.
  • An attempt has been made to reproduce all data exactly as it is on the original record; some wording changes have been made for clarity and further information on the meaning of column headings is on the census sheet.
  • Both Dwelling Number and Family Number are artificial numbers used by the census enumerator.
  • If wish to explore any of this data further, please contact Dave directly.
  • "Payewsky" is most likely a phonetic spelling of Pajewski which it is believed was pronouced "Pajevski" with the Germany "w" as the English "v".
  • Michael Pajewski would have been about 18 when he came to the USA in 1882. However, his death certificate indicates he was born in 1854 not 1864.
  • Michael Pajewski and Helen Pastwa were married 15 May 1886. Assuming a June 1900 Census, then they would have been married 14 years, not the 15 years as shown.
