Notes on the 1861 Census
  • The above census data was found in a May 2006 search by Diane Cuseil.
  • An attempt has been made to reproduce all data exactly as it is on the original record; some wording changes have been made for clarity and further information on the meaning of column headings is on the census sheet.
  • The data is from RG9/305/page 28
  • This is most certainly the son of John Isaac Steward, Shipwright, born 1794-1796 in Norfolk given the match of the middle name. There is also a match on age for the above John Isaac Steward in the John and Sarah Steward Census Records for the 1841 census (age 12) and 1851 census (age 22), suggesting that this is the same John Steward in those records.
