Notes on the 1910 Census
  • The above census data was found in a June 30, 1988 search by Dave Jordan the Allen County Library, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The record was located through the use of the Soundex/Miracode system.
  • An attempt has been made to reproduce all data exactly as it is on the original record; some wording changes have been made for clarity and further information on the meaning of column headings is on the census sheet.
  • Both Dwelling Number and Family Number are artificial numbers used by the census enumerator.
  • If wish to explore any of this data further, please contact Dave directly.
  • The Madison census records contained enumeration districts 53-87 for the 1910 Census and these were contained on two microfilm reels. The search was narrowed by working from a 1907 address at 1150 Jenifer, a 1909 address at 515 S. Baldwin and a 1911 address at 1343 Jenifer all of which had been obtained from the Montreal City Directory. Working backwards from these addresses, the search was narrowed to enumeration districts 65-67. A house-by-house search of these enumeration districts yielded the above record. Note that the record found did not include entries for Elizabeth Jordan or Charles Jordan who had been living in Madison in 1907. A 1905 Madison Census does exist which might be helpful in verifying information about Elizabeth and Charles Jordan and Elizabeth Steward.
  • Emma Selena Christopher was born 13 March 1881 in Blue Mounds, Iowa. She generally used the name Selena instead of Emma.
