Welcome to Otávio Bueno's web
page. You will find here some information about him and his work.
I am a Professor of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy at the University
of Miami, an extremely congenial and stimulating place to do philosophy.
Most of my work focuses on philosophy of science, philosophy of mathematics,
and philosophy of logic. I have been trying to develop an empiricist view about
science that is compatible with a nominalist view about mathematics and logic.
Not an easy task, but one that has led me to explore also a number of
fascinating and interrelated issues in metaphysics, epistemology, and logic.
Below you will find a list of some of my papers. Several of them are
available on line.
