Our deep sea waters in the RYUKYU islands hold the Guiness Book of World Records for the greatest VARIETY of minerals among all ocean~salts tested in the world to date. Volume is huge as well, but where ORMUS is concerned Variety is the critical element in my opinion. That equates to varieties of transitional elements and their ORMUS cousins. 

Therefore we use deep sea water of course, instead of rock-salts to makw PPT.
There is considerable controversy over the actual ORMUS content in rock-salts as opposed to Ocean Water and or Deep Sea Ocean Waters in favor of Ocean Waters being the best bet.


SHELF-LIFE:
According to my estimates... the PPT should do well in a saline environment. If properly stored you can expect the PPT to last as long as any well canned pickles or fruit jams. (ie quite a long time IF STORED PROPERLY) You will have to wash it yourself prior to use if the salty flavor bothers you BUT it is a Deep Sea Ocean water solution. PILA and I drink OCEAN WATER FOR BREAKFAST!!  (This is NOT the same as drinking common table salt which is NOT healthy for you. Don't use common table salt EVER!  yuk!)

I am taking ocean water through Japanese Government pipes at a depth of 640 meter (and 2000 meters away from shore) in the islands where there is no heavy industry in sight.... the trench is actually 1200 meters deep so at the 640meter level iy is most unlikely to have any heavy metals. The Japanese health dept seems to agree in that these very same waters are used to make salt for the entire nation and it has been on the shelves here for over 6 years (in concentrated form called NIGARI which people around the country have been consuming nationwide with excellent results, people report rapid weight loss [me too], remission of cancer, etc etc  AND the same fantastic healthy results when applied to fruits and vegetables.)
