Vacation 2008, Day Seventeen

Really good beach day, despite a night and morning of constant light rain. The sun came out at lunch and dried up all the rain, and the itsy bitsy tourists went out to beach again! We got there first, though, and had better seats!

The beach was not as clear of seaweed and trash as it has been, but the sand was still smooth and easy enough to lay down on. While we were resting, and while I was listening to my iPhone (which tends to go with me everywhere), although A Flock of Seagulls failed to play (which is odd, particularly when youlook at that iPhone's playlist), several large seagulls (though not a flock of them, by any stretch of the imagination) did land nearby and stake claim to our part of the beach. I have a picture, but before you see it, I want to emphasize that this gull was at least 12" tall! He was HUGE! ("Look at me, I'm huge!")

See what I mean about the seaweed?

Dinner consisted of Morning Glory Farms pot roast with potatoes and carrots and mushrooms, all fresh from the fields (except the cow, of course. Not sure where it came from, but it was not veggie cow), fresh squash casserole (one of my favorites! Yum yum yum!), which I helped meake (I rolled out the crackers for the topping), and fresh sugar snap peas, which hardly needed cooking at all, so fresh and crisp and sweet (I pulled the strings out of them earlier in the afternoon while watching Food Network). Homemade cole slaw from two days ago and fresh tomatoes with mayo and pepper finished up dinner, with fresh Morningglory Farms Zuchinni Bread and fresh Morningglory Farms homemade Strawberry Preserves and spreadable Philly Cream Cheese ended the meal.

I then forced my mom to watch Iron Man with me. She actually enjoyed it,laughing, of course, at the truly unbelieveable bits, but she found it quite rivetting and topical.

And that catches us up.
