First Night Back at 20s
Before going on vacation, I started back to karaoke at a Mexican restaurant because, it being a restaurant,smoking was prohibtied. But, they are closed tonight in celebration of the Fourth of July (which is interesting, because they were wide open on Cinquo de Mayo), so I am back at 20s for karaoke. Still filled with smoke, but they have new precipitators that eliminate much of it, which is nice.
Lots of people here are welcoming me back- they herd of my issues through one of the employees who kept up with me secrety through Jacob... awesome friends here.
And awesome karaoke selection! Thousands of songs! Instead of Vamps hundreds. Which means I have access to all of my old 80s one-hit wonders: Nik Kershaw, Simple Minds, Frankie Goes to Holiwood, Refreshments, and, of course, my Meat Loaf collection. I'm staying away form those right now, though, beause he is really hard to sing. I need to be sure my voice is really back for that.
I think I'll try somthing really new tonight: "Oh, Sheila," by Ready for the World. Vamp sang it on the Island, and I sang with him.. I think I can do it here. We'll see. If I make a fool of myself, well, so what? It's karaoke! If I don't, then I've added a new song to the repetoire. And, I evenspelled that correctly the first time out! Awesome!
