Vacation 2009, Day Twelve
Got to dialysis at 6:35, only to find out they didn;t want me there till noon, but it was OK,because the damaged machine had been fixed. then, there was a problem with the guy before me, so I didn't get on the machine till 9:00. Then, with 45 minutes left, I had to disengage to go to the restroom. Typically not a problem, but while I was in there, the little bit of blood left in the machine clotted, and it took an hour to put me back on the machine. Then, at 2:15, when I got off the machine, I had a low-grade fever, and they didn't want to let me go home. They took cultures and we'll know in a couple of days if I have an infection or not.
Still cold and windy today but the sun tried really hard to come out this afternoon. It might actualy succeed tomorrow! That would be nice.
I am at karaoke now. Not sure what I'll be singing. Looks like a small crowd, but, if everyone sings, it's a huge rotation. You never know around here.
I think I want to sing some Huey tonight. "Heart of Rock and Roll," then Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," and Isley Brothers, "Crying in the Rain." If there's time, I'll t hrow in Don McLean's "American Pie," but that's a ten minute song. MNIght do Smashmouth's version of "I'm a Believer," originally by the Monkees.
I'll let you know how it goes!
