Movie Review: Iron Man
Smart... really smart.
I am not a fan of Marvel comics. Everyone's a
mutant. A similar thing has happened in the DC universe- everyone is a
"meta-human."
I was never much of an
Iron Man fan. Powered armour. Cool. But, in the grand scheme of things, I just
couldn't buy it being on Tony Stark all the time. Just seemed
lame.
OK. Movie
time.
Iron
Man exceeded all expectations! Amazingly well
done, well acted- Robert Downey, Jr., is perfect for the part of Stark! As in
all Marvel movies, they've gone out of their way to make the bad guy too big,
but that's OK, I guess.
The armour is
explained well enough, and it is realistic, too, in its ease of use- there is a
classic scene where Stark is trying to get the suit off with the help of his
robots, and, due to some battle damage, the pieces are not cooperating. Starks
says, "Now, I did design this suit to come off,
right?"
I don't want to give anything
away... the movie is too good to do that. So, let me get straight to the bottom
line...
I give this film 9 out of 10
martinis ("You get one of these with each purchase of $500 million")! It is
truly phenomenal! See it on the big screen! Buy it on DVD when it comes out!
Enjoy!
