Trip to Tor Vergata with my dad - Will Patterson

My dad asks my brothers and I to go out and pray with him, and stuff like that. Not in a group but individually. So one time when we were finishing up some stuff, my dad asked me to ride up to a university just outside of Rome called Tor Vergata, which is very far away from our home. After a few minutes I finally decided to go and pray. I hadn't seen this place so I looked forward to going there. My dad and I brought some stuff with us to keep us entertained on the metro. We said "good-bye" and started out the door to the nearest bus stop. We only had to wait 5-7 minutes before the "numero tre (number 3)" came. Dad and I got on the slightly packed bus and headed to the metro. Dad stuck his card in at the metro and we took the metro together. We had to take the metro to the center of the city which is called Termini and then take a really long North-eastward metro before getting to the end of the line called Anagnina. This all took about a hour not including the bus ride. Now you might or might not know of IKEA but here in Rome, Italy it's huge, not huge in popularity but huge in size. We had to catch a bus going straight past it. IKEA was where my family got its furniture, not all of it but some of it. My brothers usually think of going to IKEA as terror but today I went much further. Dad finally decided to get off at the university which looked like a small city. We did get off the bus but still weren't sure where we were going to pray. I asked my dad when we would pray and he just answered "I've been praying the whole time." I was astounded by his answer. I started praying and here are some things you could pray for this university:
- Pray that the students would come to Christ. Pray that the students might help the people in the area to Christ.
- To become a Christian university.
There are quite a few other things you could pray about but you probably can use your imagination and make your own. We did a few other things before we went back but when we went back on the bus, we were surprised at how every store in that area of town was huge! They were just as big as IKEA. This was something I would have to tell my brothers. Well I have a lot to think about. - Will
