What is Friends???
The Friends of Open School is a group of parents, grandparents, teachers, school administrators and other adult friends of the children that attend our great school who contribute towards our fundraising efforts. Friends, not LAUSD, provides funding for many programs and assistance including, but not limited to, art, music, physical education, garden, and technology. Our budget is approximately $200,000 for the 2008-09 school year, which works out to be roughly $530.00 per child.
There are many opportunities for parents and friends to participation in our many fundraisers. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings held the second Thursday of every month at 7pm in the teacher's lounge. Child care is provided free!

Got an Open School t-shirt?
The Open School logo is a treasured part of our school history, but in recent years there have been requests for a new Tshirts. Carole Suzuki is heading up this effort, and would like help from any parents interested in organizing the design contest. If you would like to help, please call Carole at (310)306-6850 or email her at ptscws@aol.com. In the meantime, we have stocked up on the “old” Tshirts because the new ones will not be available before many clusters go on their first field trips. Stop by the office or call to see if your child’s size is now available. Get them now before they become vintage!
