Mrs. Nelson's Book Fair

A Fun and Educational Way to Support Our School

Attention all book lovers: Mrs. Nelson’s Book Fair is coming back for a second time this year during parent/teacher conference week: March 27 – April 3, 2009. Our library will be transformed into a store-like setting packed with a multitude of custom selected titles for children including classic standards, award winning titles, picture and easy-read chapter books, best-sellers and popular series favorites such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid and IceFire, dictionaries, student reference notebooks, bilingual Spanish titles and hot new releases. For the book-loving parent you will also find best-selling nonfiction and fiction titles, cookbooks and coffee table books.

Managed by Leslie Hill, our lovely librarian, and staffed by volunteer parents, the book fair is a fun way to promote the importance and pleasure of reading to our children while raising funds for our library.

Here’s the book fair insider’s scoop:

  1. Each cluster will go to the fair as a group at a pre-assigned time, but students will also be able to visit on their own during operating hours when they are not in class if they have money to spend.
  2. Parents can decide whether they want to send money with their children and allow them to make their own purchases OR they may have the child create a wish list which the parent can later fulfill by visiting the book sale personally. Pre or post parent/teacher conference is a great time to drop by.
  3. Each Cluster has developed a wish list of books of books that the teachers would like to add to their classroom libraries. Parents who purchase a book for the classroom may include a personalized “Donated by” label on the inside cover.
  4. Be prepared to pay for your books once you’ve selected them. We are not able to hold orders or send bills for later payment.
  5. We accept cash, credit or checks (with proper id) so bring it on!
  6. HOURS OF OPERATION:
    Fri. 3/27 8:00pm – 4:00pm
    Mon. 3/30 8:00am – 4:00pm
    Tue. 3/31 8:00am – 4:00pm
