Mrs. Nelson's Book Fair
A Fun and Educational Way to Support Our School
Attention all book lovers: Mrs. Nelson’s Book Fair is coming back for a second time this year during parent/teacher conference week: March 27 – April 3, 2009. Our library will be transformed into a store-like setting packed with a multitude of custom selected titles for children including classic standards, award winning titles, picture and easy-read chapter books, best-sellers and popular series favorites such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid and IceFire, dictionaries, student reference notebooks, bilingual Spanish titles and hot new releases. For the book-loving parent you will also find best-selling nonfiction and fiction titles, cookbooks and coffee table books.
Managed by Leslie Hill, our lovely librarian, and staffed by volunteer parents, the book fair is a fun way to promote the importance and pleasure of reading to our children while raising funds for our library.
Here’s the book fair insider’s scoop:
- Each cluster will go to the fair as a group at a pre-assigned time, but students will also be able to visit on their own during operating hours when they are not in class if they have money to spend.
- Parents can decide whether they want to send money with their children and allow them to make their own purchases OR they may have the child create a wish list which the parent can later fulfill by visiting the book sale personally. Pre or post parent/teacher conference is a great time to drop by.
- Each Cluster has developed a wish list of books of books that the teachers would like to add to their classroom libraries. Parents who purchase a book for the classroom may include a personalized “Donated by” label on the inside cover.
- Be prepared to pay for your books once you’ve selected them. We are not able to hold orders or send bills for later payment.
- We accept cash, credit or checks (with proper id) so bring it on!
