In episode 21 Opaque plays the first part of a two part
interview with Ross Hemsworth from Glastonbury Radio
(www.glastonburyradio.net), who
presented ‘Now That’s Weird’ on Edgemedia Television
where he interviewed David Icke. In this chat, many
things are discussed, such as the Glastonbury effect
on human potential from the space cadets to the
people who really do find themselves, to the
awakening people are going through, and whether
aliens would contact dolphins or whales instead of
us! Ross explains how his radio station has
developed over time, and gives an insight into what
it is like to be an ex millionaire who downsized his
life, and how it is impossible not to change if you
win the lottery! Also he mentions that Robbie
Williams is a listener to Glastonbury Radio, and has
recently undergone a cosmic transformation of his
own.
Afterwards
Opaque announces ShamanicFreedomRadio’s new archive
page, which can be found on a link from the podcast’s
page on Podomatic, which he has built himself as an
easy way to preserve the episodes once the podcast has
reached its quota and early episodes have to be deleted
from Podomatic.
He then reads emails from Lauren and Blinkdog, and
bangs the world to rights on a few topical subjects as
the podcast draws to a close.
Music by The Levellers.

In episode 22, Opaque
basks in the glow of a warm sunny day, and plays a
recording of wood pigeons to capture the sounds of
an English summer. After that he plays the second
part of the interview with Ross Hemsworth, which has
to be split (due to overrunning the hour) to make a
convenient continuity break for those listening on
SpiritPlants radio, and urging those listeners to
download the podcast direct to hear the remaining 20
minutes.
Following on from last week, Ross Hemsworth from
Glastonbury Radio (www.glastonburyradio.net) speaks
about how Glastonbury can empower and change a
person, the subjects go on to banks, the current
financial crisis, 911, 7/7, other conspiracies,
2012, and and many more topics. One of the most
significant subjects spoken about is Gary McKinnon,
the autistic British man who hacked into the
Pentagon, and as a result, is fighting against
extradition to America.
During the gap between the interview, Opaque reads out
emails from C-Lion, Raymond from SpiritPlants Radio,
and ‘Gobbledegook’ (interesting name!). He also
announces that he will be going to Glastonbury Tor in a
few days to record the Beltane Special.
Music by Japan and Dave Gilmour.

In episode 23,
Opaquelens starts off by plugging next week’s
episode 24 Glastonbury Beltane special - tell
everyone!
Before the interview with Glen, Opaque shares his
internet research concerning the latest flu
pandemic/biological weapon/hoax/whatever by informing
everyone about preventative ingredients such as
colloidal silver, black elderberry extract and
echinacea.
During the interview, Glen describes his first mushroom
trip, which was quite mild and didn’t take him as far
as it could have done, but Glen hints that he probably
will have a psychedelic future. Due to the limited
scope of a mild first trip, the conversation takes off
on other tangents concerning many other psychedelic and
non psychedelic related matters.
As the show closes Opaque reads an email from Akashic
Badger, who also has only had one previous psychedelic
experience.
Music by Mike Oldfield.

In this episode, Opaque
interviews Robin Williamson, the ex Incredible
String Band legend who went on to be a harpist and
storyteller. In this interview, many topics are
discussed, such as the effects of LSD in music in
the 1960’s, and how it affected consciousness. Robin
mentions that Jack Kerouac and William Blake were
important influences during that time. Also he talks
about what he has been up to recently with his gigs
doing ‘spontaneous’ music, as well as his
collaboration with John Renbourn, his times in
America before he moved back to Britain to live in
Cardiff, and plugs his record label
pigswhiskermusic.co.uk.
Before the interview, Opaque reads out a few recent
emails, and afterwards announces that he will be going
to the October Gallery in Central London to record a
lecture by Graham Hancock, and another with Ralph
Metzner.

26: Interview with Matthew Holbrook

In this episode, Opaque
interviews Druid/bard/poet Matthew Holbrook, who he
recorded on top of Glastonbury Tor in episode 24.
Before the interview, he plays a repeat of that
poem, and chats about how he felt it was a wise move
to take the podcast away from the usual psychedelic
related stuff and focus for a while on the other
branches of his eclectic spiritual model. Then he
reads an email from Australian listener Diceanne.
During the interview, Matthew discusses his strict
Anglican Christian upbringing, and how he converted to
Paganism, feeling that this was based less on myth and
speculation, and more on one’s observance of the sun
and the moon, and also points out that in this modern
age with problems such as climate change, Paganism
helps people to focus on the Earth by giving people a
sense of being on a living planet. The conversation the
goes onto how Christian festivals were superimposed
onto pagan festivals. Opaque’s tuppence worth to this
is how he has fused paganism with his psychedelic
practices and his Indian influences from previous
travels.

As he wraps up the show, Opaque mentions that he will
go to the October Gallery to record Graham Hancock
doing a lecture.

27: Graham Hancock Lecture part 1

In this episode, Opaque
starts by playing part 1 of a lecture with Graham
Hancock recorded Tuesday 26 May 2009 at the October
Gallery in Holborn, Central London. Starting from
the premise that our society focuses on the alert,
problem solving state of mind and tries to pretend
that that their is no other, and that shamanic
states are considered threatening to the Western
psyche, Graham focuses, amongst other things, on how
cave paintings by prehistoric man are evidence of
psychedelic origins of our evolution, how all the
usual images such as animal headed humanoids,
serpent and even alien ‘Greys’ appear painted on the
walls of these cathedral like cave interiors. As
part 1 of the talk comes to an end, Graham points
out how both the prophet Mohammed and female shaman
Maria Sabine went from being illiterate to suddenly
being able to read in an instant due to a trance
state.
After the talk, Opaque talks about how psychedelics
have become between him and a friend of many years.
That the week before this podcast was a week of bad
experiences and fallings out for him, and that one of
those experiences was falling out with a friend who,
instead of seeing Opaque as a shamanic psychedelic
user, sees him as a ‘mentally ill person with a drug
problem’. Opaque urges listeners to send emails if they
have had this kind of disagreement with any friends in
the past, so that he doesn’t have to feel alone in
this.
Music by Ozric Tentacles

28: Graham Hancock Lecture part 2
June 08, 2009 01:55 PM PDT
archive.org
This episode starts with
Opaquelens being more positive than last week,
having come though a reality crisis which involved a
number of problems, one of which was falling out
with a long term friend, who appears to have a
negative/phobic view of Opaque’s psychonautic ways.
He reads emails from Len, Jed and Louis (or Lewie),
all of whom had alienating experiences comparable to
Opaque’s.
Part 2 of Graham Hancock’s
lecture begins with fairy abduction as a psychedelic
shamanic phenomenon, and how fairies and elves are
similar/parallel to aliens. The subject of
therianthropes (animal/human hybrids) are further
looked upon as well, as Graham talks about how in the
50’s and 60’s before the ‘war on drugs’, extensive
research was conducted into fairies and elves amongst
other things during medical experiments using injected
and smoked DMT, by many people including Rick
Strassman, author of the book “DMT The Spirit
Molecule”.
Graham mentions that we are all illegal in this room
because we all contain DMT produced by the pineal
gland, which evolutionary evidence shows was a sense
organ in older and more primitive animals, and that as
it contains a lens and a cornea, that it may be
possible that it still is a sense organ, and DMT is
what activates the sense, which could mean that
psychedelics just simply retune our perception to allow
in freestanding parallel realities to come in.
After a while there’s a question and answer session,
which goes into the direction Jeremy Narby’s ‘DNA
recording’, and of growing Banisteriopsis Caapi
sustainably, amongst other subjects. After the talk,
Opaque compares the reality of a psychonaut as being
floating around in the ‘madness’ zone wearing ‘anti
madness space suits’!
Music by Hawkwind.

29: Interview with Ian R. Crane part 1

In this episode, Opaque
sends thanks to Cody from Black Light in the Attic
for featuring a bite sized trailer of Shamanic
Freedom Radio amongst other podcasts, and to Lorenzo
Hagerty for sending a free copy of his talking book
‘The Genesis Generation’.
The interview with Ian R Crane starts with Ian giving
his approximately 1500 year time window for when he
thinks the ‘Dark Ages’ were upon us starting from the
battle of Constantine against Maxentius in 312 AD and
the destruction of the Library of Alexandria in 415 AD
right up to Jean-François Champollion birth in 1797,
who was the first person to decypher ancient Egyptian
hieroglyphs, setting the ball rolling for other ancient
knowledge to return to us. Other subjects covered are
philosophers such as Gurdjieff and his contemporaries
whose philosophy may have been enhanced by mescaline in
an era when there was no ubiquitous pop culture machine
to taint people’s minds.
These are not the only subjects covered and Opaque
feels that it would be a bit ‘spoilery’ not to leave a
bit of mystery here!
In the aftermath, Opaque reads an email from Jesse
Miller from the Mystic Mind podcast and recommends
listening to the Diet Soap podcast too.

30: Interview with Ian R. Crane part 2

In this episode, Opaque
starts by being in silly mode before waffling about
the usual stuff which includes an impression of
Cheech and Chong, as well as an idea for an
impersonation special, with a snippet of what Rupert
Sheldrake and Terence McKenna would sound like on
it, before carrying on with the interview with Ian R
Crane.
The talk starts with Ian R Crane talking about when he
had a millionaire’s lifestyle which disillusioned him
and made him question his life in the corporate world,
and when he had some time off for self reflection,
wondering what was happening in his life and the world,
and as he was approaching 40 at the time, he elaborates
on how he feels this was part of a ‘transpersonal
process’ which is known negatively as the midlife
crisis.
The subject matter goes on a tangent via the oil
industry and the use of fluoride, and Carl Jung, 911,
and Ian’s personal library of books he’s accumulated
post ‘midlife opportunity’, which remains the main
topic.
Other topics include Terence McKenna’s Timewave Zero
and 2012, looking at the clock at 11:11, and the fact
that winter solstice 2012 will be at 11:11 GMT.
After a break and a musical interlude, the conversation
goes onto the subject of David Icke and how Ian Crane
read three of his books back to back within a few days.
The subject of psychedelics comes up and Ian says that
in his opinion, these plants should be temporary in
people's lives.
Opaque signs off by pointing that he would like to be a
guest on other people’s podcasts if the opportunity
arrives.
Music by Ozric Tentacles and Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd.
