Reading Cards

By learning to read for yourself, you become familiar with cards that come up regularly – these quickly become ‘your cards’. Whenever you have a decision to make, or need to take stock of past issues or gain a glimpse of future possibilities, the tarot can help you see a number of different outcomes and futures.

This doesn’t mean that destiny is fixed; you have a number of destinies, just as there are choices available to you. working with the tarot helps illuminate these choices, giving valuable insights into your potential and the influence of people around you.

Past, present and future

1. Shuffle the cards while thinking of your question. If you don’t have a specific question, just allow your thoughts to wander through your hands and into the cards. When you are ready, spread the cards face-down into a fan shape. You might like to use your left hand for this, as traditionally this is the hand of fate.

2. Choose three cards and place them face down from left to right. These represent the past (on the left) the present (centre) and the future (the right).
