With Super 8 now over forty years old, it's following as a format and a genre in it's own right is as healthy as ever, being the first choice of many filmmakers and artists alike. Super 8 and small film have their own particular place in today's digitally dominated world providing unique imagery from the smallest of celluloid frames.

who?

onsuper.org came about because a bunch of UK filmmakers were in need of an up to date web based resource for filmmakers like them - shooting on Super 8 but editing digitally. Thus in 2004, with necessity being the mother of invention, the site was born.

We aim to provide up to date news, information and resources for amateurs and professionals alike focused on Super 8 and Single 8, and tailored specifically to using these formats in today's digital age. By combining the beauty and uniqueness of film with the immediacy and convenience of digital editing, small gauge filmmakers can have the best of both worlds.

Since its start, onsuper8.org has gone from strength to strength and is used by thousands of filmmakers from the four corners of the globe, all keeping Super 8 and small film alive.
