The OToBass: designed at the Sonic Arts Research Center, Belfast, Northern Ireland
So-called "augmented instrument", the OTo-Bass is a hacked-in usual instrument, misappropriating the existing interface and adding extra-controls to command real-time digital processing. Electrical signals of the controls are converted into serial datas, going through USB and retrieved in an audio programming environment called MaxMSP for further treatments.
