Olivia Coelho is a Sacramento, California native. She left briefly to earn her BFA in Fine Art at the University of California at Santa Cruz, then worked as a Medical Illustrator in Manhattan before returning to Sacramento seven years ago.
She has been making art all her life and started showing as a teenager. The last five years have been the most productive and expansive. Her interests now include filmmaking and fashion design as well as line drawing, 2-D and 3-D mixed-media, and text-based work. Look for her involvement with Studio 301, an artist's collective based in Seattle and Sacramento, known for their eclectic multi-media productions. Studio 301 brought you 2002's "A New American Guide to Happiness and Despair" and, 2003's "It's a Wonderful Life"
Recently developed is the product line by Tim Tinker and herself, aptly named, "olivia & tim". This is a series of hand-painted handbags and luggage. The line prompted Olivia to create SELLOUT/BUYOUT, a huge product show exhibiting all utilitarian art by local artists. It is the first show of its kind here in Sac.
