WolfmotherLast night Wolfmother played at the Galic
Club and it was a pretty rocking little gig. Wolf & Cub
were support and were quite good (but a bit same sound all the way through).
The interesting thing about Wolf & Cub is that they have two drummers, which
worked really well.
Wolfmother came on and got straight into it with Dimension. Their lead singer is definitely the performer of the band with his mad haircut, outfit and showmanship, inciting the crowd into a frenzy and trying Hendrix-type guitar moves. Wolfmother have been described as Led Zeppelin/Kyuss type sound and it was good fun to watch. Not the kind of music I am going to buy, but it was a great gig. Which reminds me, half the fun of going to the Gaelic Club is having a couple of beers before and after the gig at the pub next door called The Madison. The place attracts a broad range of characters and is a great place for people watching. They also play a very eclectic range of music video clips which last night went from Alice Cooper to Snoop to Kiss to Spiderbait, some I hadn't ever seen or hadn't seen in years.
