Sigur Ros Spread the MusicOK, I'm probably a bit late to the party on this
one. But if you haven't heard of the Icelanders 'Sigur Ros' then head along to
their website to download some tracks from their official website - there's
quite a few to get. (To give you a sense of genre, Radiohead cite them as an
influence, but it is pretty unique).
Now that in itself is pretty cool (giving away their music for free), but they also have a p2p page that says: we have created a sigur rós file sharing room (or 'hub') in a program called dc++, through which fans can exchange concerts and other sigur rós media files amongst each other. Now that is brilliant! A band assisting in the sharing of their music to gain a wider audience. I saw they are doing an Australian tour as well, but it's already sold out. I'm not surprised...
