nearly got me...

JZ nearly got me with his post saying he has left Yahoo! to go to Google, then I remembered it's the 1st April.... Even the pink 'OMG!!! Ponies!!!' version of Slashdot didn't surprise me as much as the chance of Jeremy moving to the Googleplex

Toothpaste for Dinner is still great

Toothpaste for Dinner is a cartoon that's great and now it has an RSS feed (instead of having to navigate the repetitive website interaction) which I have loaded into Net News Wire to enjoy.

Fight Club as romantic comedy

Ha!
Here's a mash-up of Fight Club, edited to be a romantic comedy trailer.

I only watched Fight Club for the first time last week, so it's still fresh in my mind and seeing this was just too funny.

Morris Minor and the Majors

Recently I remembered a song that came out when I was in Year 6. I remember it was a novelty song and that I wrote down the words to learn them. The only issue was that I couldn't remember the song name or the artist and only had a recollection that it was taking the piss out of the Beastie Boys. Last night a mate of mine, Marty came down to Sydney and we went out to a friends 70/80s party. I mentioned the song (or what I knew of it) and Marty recognised what I was talking about and within a minute had named the band, Morris Minor & the Majors, and then another minute later the song, Stutter Rap. After the party and a few beers we hit the internet and uncovered an MP3 of Stutter Rap by Morris Minor and the Majors. And there was also this little story from the guy who produced it.

After all those years I still remembered nearly all the words first time through.
Classic.

Darth The Blogger

Ha! With all the hype about the new Star Wars, the best thing is that someone is now blogging the classic Star Wars movies from Darth's P.O.V. and it's very funny. There are clear references to scenes in the movies and it is very well written, giving Darth the 'human' side we never saw :-)

Go read 'The Darth Side: Memoirs of a Monster"

This is a classic!

It sounds like I'm very late to this one, but if you haven't seen it, read the article and then watch the Numa Numa Dance video. It's great, this bloke is very entertaining, and the song itself is in a whole other league...

A way with words

What's New, Pussycat? is a brilliant blog by an Aussie gal in Scotland.

Her latest entry, "When Ponchos attack", includes the following marvellous paragraph:
"...Today I saw the ultimate. When the teenage lassies of Scotland roam in packs, they often choose the standard uniform of two-tone hair (dark bottom layers, bleached blonde slabs on top, aggressively ironed), cigarette, withering kohl-rimmed stare, and the mini-est of mini-skirts (or tartan Slut Kilt if they're feeling patriotic) with no regard for arctic temperatures. But this season they've added the ubiquitous poncho. I watched a quartet standing in a row outside McDonalds, gnashing their chewing gum and checking for text messages. Their ponchos swirled and snapped in the autumn wind; they looked like a flock of polyphonic ravens...."

But you have to read the rest...
