The future of VirtueDesktops

So I've spent a good little while now trying to work out how to say this, and I think the simplest thing is to just get it out.

I'm going to stop developing VirtueDesktops.

Why? I don't want this to turn into an excuse-giving session, but there are a couple of reasons:

* Spaces (it's great, you guys will love it);
* the amount of time I would like to pour into the project, and the amount of time I simply cannot afford to;

I initially started this project as a way to learn how to program Objective-C and the mac, and because I really liked the idea of virtual desktops. So I learned a lot - although some of my code is still pretty damn questionable!

It's been an absolute blast, and I couldn't have done this without the community that quickly sprang up around Virtue, nor the translators and patch contributors who have helped out.

It's not my intention to permanently kill the project - if anyone (or a group of anyones) would like to take over the project, and continue to produce one of the signature apps of the mac platform - drop me an e-mail or an IM. If anyone does step forward, you'll have to convince the community that you're it.

What's next for me? Well I'm got two mac development projects already underway - one of them will most likely be open-source, and the other is going to be commercial. Neither are remotely ready for prime-time, so you'll just have to visit my blog once in a while!
