WiFi Extreme on a budget

by okkibokki:

As an owner of a 550Mhz Ti-Book I am locked out of putting an Airport Extreme WiFi card into my computer as it only supports the standard 802.11b WiFi cards.

But my Ti-Book also has a PC-Card slot witch I don't use.

I was surfing to the Belkin Website the other day to look for some iPod accessories when I saw a Belkin WiFi 802.11g PC card that was Mac OS X compatible.

Because I already own a hardware ADSL router I needed a 802.11g Wireless Access Point (for my "WiFi" Ti-Book to connect to my router) witch I found also on the Belkin site.

How much did this cost me ?

Belkin PC card € 50.-
Belkin WAP € 90.-
--------
Total € 140.-

Apple Store:

Apple Airport Extreme card € 89,-
Apple Airport Express € 149,-
---------
Total € 238,-

Difference = € 98,-
