The Casino of Death

All games in the Casino of Death involve betting on the race of the next exile who falls. In practice, it is better to bet upon the 2nd or 3rd person to fall after some random news event, like "Joe Exile is now clanning". All games are designed to be zero sum... (i.e. your expected profit by playing them is 0 coins). In case anyone is wondering, I am an associate of the Actuarial Society of Sylvans, (the ASS).

I spent about an hour keeping track of over 150 deaths. I am currently gathering stats to update this page. The number of deaths by race follows:

Race

# of Deaths

Fen'neko

47

Human

32

Sylvan

30

Zo

24

Dwarf

14

Thoom

9

Undisclosed

5

Halfling

3

Total

164

In actuality, there were no Halfling deaths, so I put up 3 so that they could be represented in the game. There were also only 2 Undisclosed deaths, (both thanks to Mai), but I think the Undisclosed should be more than Halflings, so I bumped it up to 5. This sample was done before the deluge of Undisclosed Mystics, so now the number of Undisclosed deaths would be far greater.

If someone has a good way of collecting the number of deaths by race, please send me either the stats or the technique.

Game #1, Playing the Field
(Two Players)

One player picks Race Pool #1, leaving Race Pool #2 for the second player. Each player puts up an equal amount of coins. If the race of the next fallen exile is in the Race Pool the player has selected, that player wins the coins from the other player.

Pool #1 Pool #2
Fen'neko Human
Zo Sylvan
Thoom Dwarf
Halfling Undisclosed

The losing player may elect to stop playing, or play another round as Player 1. A winning player is obligated to play another round as Player 2.

Game #2, Playing the Field
(Three Players)

The rules are exactly as above, but using the following pools:

Pool #1 Pool #2 Pool #3
Fen'neko Human Sylvan
Undisclosed Dwarf Zo
Halfling Thoom

Game #3
, Cripes (Two Players)

The first player selects one race. The next player may choose any other race. A player wins if an exile of their selected race falls before an exile of their opponent's selected race.

There is a catch. The first player puts up 10 coins, but the number of coins put up by the second player is determined by consulting the following table. The first column is the race selected by the first player. The other columns represent the race selected by the second player.

For example, let's say Player 1 selects Humans, (see the 2nd Row), and Player 2 selects Zos. Bounty, (a Human) is the next to fall, so Player 1 wins 8 coins from Player 2. Had Kazumi, (a Zo), fallen before any Humans, Player 2 would have won 10 coins, (Player 1 always puts up 10 coins).

* Due to the very low sample size, Player 1 may not choose these races at this time.

The losing player has the option of ending the game, or playing another round as either Player 1 or Player 2.
