What a Difference a Year Makes

Year ago around this time I played in a few events of Hollywood Park's Sport of Kings tournament series coming out with nothing.

This year the first event I played in is the $100+25 w/one optional $100 rebuy 7-Card Stud 8/b tournament. Start with 700 in chips and you may rebuy at any time within the 1st 3 levels for 700 more in chips. I am a much much better Stud 8/b player these days compared to a year ago. I ran my chips up to 1400 at the break. Took the rebuy since the limits after the break were 15 ante/25 low card/100-200. After the break I picked up where I left off and ran my chips up to over 5k. Then things started going downhill after I got highcarded off my table. Didn't see any hands for almost 3 levels. I played perfect for the most part with only mistakes was calling a couple river bets knowing I was beat. They paid 2 tables and I made the money finishing 14th. Really proud of the way I played. Almost every pot I came in I scooped or had scooping potential. Had my eyes set on 1st place money of $8500. Tomorrow is the $100+25 with optional rebuy limit hold'em event. Good chance I'll be playing in it. If you are going to be playing any of the Sport Of Kings events, come find me and say hi. I'll be running satellites for them the next couple of Sundays.
