Cannot Control the Cards

Sometimes the cards do not cooperate but you must keep believing in your game.

Yesterday I dropped a couple of racks in the 20/40 Stud 8/b game. All it takes is a couple of hands to go the wrong way to have a losing session. Three 4's and a 7 low gives me no piece of the pot. I lose to a wheel made on the river. Starting with 3 wheel cards seemed to always attract bricks the rest of the way. Oh well that's how it goes.

This past Saturday I booked a win in the 20/40 Stud 8/b game. I ran into Hank and met Bill Rini. I was running a NLH Shootout tourney and they decided to play in it. Unfortunately they came in 2nd and 3rd at their qualifier with Bill taking a horrible beat.

Just this evening I played in the Super Monday $150+12 tourney over at Party Poker. My KK runs into AA and I'm left with 87 in chips. I hang in there and build my chips up to 4k. After a table change I see QQ in the sb. Everyone folds to me and with blinds at 100/200 I make it 400 to go. BB has me covered and puts me all in and I call immediately knowing he has 3 overs. BB has AT and flop comes an Ace and I'm done in 273rd paying 140. Pretty happy about my play but disappointed of course with the result.

I'm happy with my tournament game. Making a lot of good reads. Also satisfied with my cash game lately. I feel more in control in Stud 8/b than limit hold'em but it is definitely a roller coaster of a game.
