100 Years 

In July 1905 a number of New Churchmen in Sydney decided to form a group with their special focus being on the Writings of Emanuel Swedenborg as embodying the Second Coming of the Lord, a revelation that brings new meaning to the Word of the Old and New Testaments.

By 1921 this group had built a church at 24 Dudley St, Penshurst which is still the place of worship for the Hurstville New Church.  To celebrate 100 years we are having a week of events to mark the occasion.  (see official program)

Bishop Tom Kline

To mark the occasion we are priveleged to have a visit from the world-wide leader of our church Bishop Tom Kline.  On Friday evening 15th July at 7.30 pm Bishop Kline will give a presentation "What the New Church Believes" which is especially suitable for those new to the church.  At 10.00 am on Sunday 17th July Bishop Kline will conduct the church service.  At any time during the week of 11th to 17th July you can call in and browse the displays in Baringa (next to the church), stroll in the extensive gardens behind the church or have a chat and some refreshments.

Stained Glass Windows

The stained glass windows pictured above sit above the altar in our church.  They were handcrafted by church members John and Lenore Sandow in 1984.

The ALPHA and OMEGA refer to the LORD GOD who is the FIRST and LAST, CREATOR and SAVIOUR.

The GARDEN OF EDEN fom Genesis is on the left, the NEW JERUSALEM and RIVER OF LIFE from Revelation on the right.

The TREE OF LIFE is in both, representing the LORD GOD the only SOURCE OF LIFE, from Whom ALL TRUTH is revealed comprehensively out of SACRED SCRIPTURE.
