Ginostra was purchased in the summer of
1988, after having searched for many years for my ideal holiday
home. I had found a rural house immersed in green, away from
the commercial tourist area, where one could still breath the island
farm atmosphere. It was an authentic home, untouched by the tourist
boom.
I liked it right away for its typical
Ischian home style that includes high dome ceilings and its tranquil
position. Additionally, the closeness to the largest beach on the
island, Maronti, and St Angelo, one of the most appealing villages
of Ischia enhanced its charm. I fell in love immediately as it
synthesised all the characteristics of an ideal Mediterranean home
being full of light and colours of the sea and woodland of the
volcano Epomeo.
I restored this home with love, respecting
the original structure and optimising its potential with great
contribution by the architect, Elio di Domenico. He created
a truly comfortable and pleasant home. Throughout the years, I
have added objects chosen with discretion from my many travels
in order to conserve the atmosphere of a rural and yet refined
home.
This year, I have decided to rent my home
to people who share my love for a tranquil refined comfortable
holiday surrounded by nature and beauty.
