The original intent of this walkthrough was not to preserve a tour of the
Sedge after it was gone, but to provide a tour for people who couldn't
be there in person for tours (like family members in other states).
After we discontinued tours, I put up this as the greeting.
Visitors to Homer frequently make their way to the Homer
City Pier. Many make their way down the pier a way, take pictures of the
Sedge, and go on their way. A few will approach the quarterdeck
and speak with whomever is on watch for a little while.
A very few people will ask if there's any way to be given
a tour. During peacetime, we are usually happy to do so if anyone is available
to conduct the tour at the time. Alas, we are at war now, and must turn
everyone away regardless. During times of war, we are not able to take
the chance that everyone approaching Sedge has peaceful intentions.
