December 2008 Party

As you can see, there were lots of goodies and quite a few people at our December Party on December 20.

Dee Red Trees took the picture with my camera. Jane Fuller declined to be in the picture. The members shown are, from left to right: Stephen Farber (Woody), Lynette Courtney, Hartley Jackson, Vicki Giella. Warren Walker, Mary Killian, Russell Carslon, Midge Lubot, Geof Gonter, and Barry Hayes.

Free used Macintosh accessories found happy new owners.

Warren Walker brought two of his beautiful Vermont wildflower calendars to show us. He has sold most of this year's printing that were not given as gifts.

Warren brought the only Macintosh question. He can receive email but cannot send. He gets an error message that the server does not accept the password. The server is FairPoint. Geof Gonter and Stephen Farber gave him some suggestions.

The winners of the three copies of Scott Kelby's "Macintosh OS X Panther Killer Tips" from Peachpit Press were Barry Hayes, Geof Gonter, and Stephen Farber. Dee Red Trees had driven for an hour to get here at 30 mile per hour just to enter the raffle to win one of the copies. Stephen Farber gave her the copy he won. A description of this popular book is available on our NVMUG web site. He now has an iPhone Book in case it ever becomes available in Vermont. Midge, who for years would not use any Microsoft products, is now using Office 2008, so she got the book "Office 2008 On Demand."

Midge brought books from our library, and I believe some of the books found new homes.
