The Ultimate Digital Photography Resource

"Photo - pedia" is an encyclopedia of photography covering everything from some photography basics and choosing a camera and accessories to photo printing and sharing. In between it covers practically everything composition, lighting and flash, managing photos, scanning, and digital photo editing. It also covers handling different kinds of photography and situations including portraits, sports, night, travel, still life, macro, and black and white.

The writing is simple and clear with color illustrations. The edges of the pages are marked with different colors and places for each chapter to make them easier to find. The table of contents is very detailed, and there is both a glossary of terms and an index. All of this makes it an easy to use reference.

But, what I liked best about "Photo-pedia" were areas of text highlighted with a green background with directions, tips, comments and the opinions of the author which give the book a personality.

PearsonUGbanner336One example in a green background are the reasons you might prefer Photoshop Elements for Photoshop CS. Another example is A Final Word about the importance of having fun, “So keep learning, keep shooting—and keep having fun!”
