ROLAND - On November 4, 1919, at 1:30 p. m., Daniel Busey Roland, aged 52 years, 8 months and 6 days.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at his late residence, 1220 East Philadelphia street, Friday. Leave the house at 2 p. m., proceed to Hartman Memorial chapel, Prospect Hill cemetery, where further services and interment will take place.

Daniel Busey Roland died at his home, 1220 East Philadelphia street, yesterday morning at 1:30 o'clock.  He was fifty-three years of age.  The funeral will be held from the house next Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. [seems to be some confusion about day of death and time of funeral]

Headlines: "Sudden Death From Heart Trouble; Daniel Busey Roland Fell From Chair and Found By Sister - Had Expired"

Daniel Busey Roland, aged almost fifty-three years, who resided with his sister, Mrs. Laura Oberdick, 1320 [sic - 1220, according to death certificate] East Philadelphia street, died suddenly at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon from heart trouble.  Mr. Roland was seated in an adjoining room from his sister at the time, when she heard him fall to the floor after breathing heavily.  When she reached him, he was apparently dead.  He had been complaining for the past three weeks and was confined to the house.  He is survived by C. J. Roland, and W. H. [sic - W.] Roland, Emigsville and John A. Roland, York, brothers, and Mrs. Lizzie E. Zumbrum [sic - Zumbrun], Emigsville, Mrs. William Oberdick, York, and Mrs. Harvey Crone, Detroit, Michigan, sisters.  The funeral will take place from the house at 1320 [sic - 1220, according to death certificate] East Philadelphia street, Friday, leaving the house at 2 p. m. and proceed to Hartman Memorial chapel, Prospect Hill cemetery, where services will be held and interment take place.

Daniel Busey Roland

The funeral of Daniel Busey Roland, who died suddenly last Tuesday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Laura Oberdick, 1220 East Philadelphia street, was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house.  Further services were held at Hartman Memorial chapel, Prospect Hill cemetery, where interment was made.  Rev. Rudolph Byrd, 930 East Market street, pastor of the Fourth U. B. church, Market and Lehman streets, officiated.  The pallbearers were: Earl Oberdick, Clarence Bair, Frank Dacheux, Harry Shelley and Ira Ryan, all nephews of the deceased.
