From The Gazette, York, PA, 1936:

ROLAND. - On Thursday, December 17, 1936, at 11 p. m., Carl Bailey Roland, son of the late Charles J. Roland, at the home of his mother, Mrs. William M. [sic - reporter apparently misheard "Lillian M."] Roland, 428 Prospect street, aged 17 years, 10 months and 7 days.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at the home of his mother on Monday, December 21, 1936.  Services at 2 p. m.  Interment in Prospect Hill cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening.

Carl Bailey Roland

Carl Bailey Roland, son of Mrs. Lillian M. Roland, and the late Charles J. Roland died at 11 p. m., Thursday at the home of his mother, 428 Prospect street.  He was seventeen years old.  Surviving him, besides his mother, is a sister, Miriam, at home.  Roland who was a first-year student at the William Penn Senior High school was a member of both Messiah Lutheran church and Sunday school.  The funeral will be held at 2 p. m., Monday, with services at the home of his mother.  Interment will be made in Prospect hill cemetery.

Carl Bailey Roland

The funeral of Carl Bailey Roland, William Penn Senior High school student who died last Thursday, was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of his mother, Mrs. Lillian M. Roland, 423 Prospect street.  Rev. W. A. Janson officiated.  The pallbearers were fellow members of the Sunday school class of Messiah Lutheran congregation.  Burial was made in Prospect Hill cemetery.
